Come shoot with us if you're in Bell Co/Central Texas, every Thursday night at 6 pm all summer.

If you've never shot competition, steel challenge is the best intro I can think of. Family friendly as well.

If you don't think you have the equipment for it, let me know. I can always provide extra. If you want to shoot something I own at a match, we can do that too.

General match info:

Quote:

Temple Gun Club Thursday Night Steel Match is 3 stages of family fun held from May until mid August at Temple Gun Club Range 3924 FM 438 Loop, Temple, TX 76501. The minimum round count for the match is 75 rounds, but always bring more in case you miss.

Sign up / Check in starts at 17:00 till 17:50 with a limit of 55 shooters. Only one gun per shooter if we have a high turn out. Shooting starts at 18:00 until 20:00 or until official sunset. Match fee is $10 per person, Juniors are FREE. Please make sure to bring a bag for your firearm or an appropriate belt holster. Slings are not allowed and a par time may be set at 30 sec on the timer if a high turn out to make sure everyone gets to shoot. The minimum and maximum calibers are 22LR, 9mm 45 auto. No magnum loads, tracer, steel core or incendiary rounds are allowed. Please make sure you arrive early for check in. If you have any questions, please email us at tgc.practiscore@gmail.com.

Plus you get to see me do silly things like shoot an SBR from a holster. Always a fun time.

I shot my first steel match this weekend.

Was a lot of fun, and quite humbling at the same time. Looking forward to the next one.

Awesome!

Competition is an outstanding crucible. No better opportunity for the average guy to see how he's going to perform under pressure.

Wish more people took advantage of that.

Full '90s mode tonight: irons and surefire foreend.

It was a good time, as always.

Been shooting all iron sights so far this year: the full size MP5 clone and my little 22/45 22 pistol.

I'll be shooting the K gun tomorrow night with an optic. As always, open invitation to come shoot the match with me. Might even loan someone the full size MP5 for the night.

Here's a couple stages from this year. A few decent runs, a lot of errors. Lots of rust still on my shooting game, this last two years (2nd kid, building a house, selling a house, moving, etc) really put a crimp in my range time.

Only a couple matches left in the year so I have to do my annual match with a wheel gun. 586 L Comp this time.

Came out early to zero new optic on the AR, which is why its included.
