I'm trying to figure out if this thread is serious or a joke. Much of the comments seem like an MSNBC reporter was sent to a ranch owned by Trump then wrote about it. Some seem to be taking it way to seriously and it appears I hit a nerve with O.J. It seems like if people were taking it seriously, they would have actually read the rules posted by the guy and not open themselves up to needed corrections such as:
1. As mentioned before, the rules I saw posted don't say anything about confiscating antlers, but don't let facts get in the way of a good story. It is not illegal to ask someone to leave antlers. See #2 below
2. On an MLD ranch, the tag goes with the meat. It is perfectly ok to separate the two. TPWD website for education.
3. Some dude went off on a tangent speculating that the landowner or managers were selling hunts when paid hunters were not there. He/she came to that conclusion by his/her interpretation of the rules, much like an MSNBC reporter looking for something regardless of the facts. It is like that guy came right from the Johnny Depp trial. Objection your honor, speculation, and hearsay. If he is on a place where that is being done, it sux for him but to speculate such based on nothing is bad bull.
Feel free to put up these things called game cameras; they even have them with cellular capability. A very easy way to prove nefarious action. Surely you see what is happening on the southern border. Notifying who is on a ranch in deep south Texas on a group app actually seems like a great idea. There is a lot that can go wrong.
4. Well, I had another one to point out, but I am laughing so hard I can't remember what it was and besides, I need to save something in case I return.

There is enough in the rules to go after without lying or misrepresenting, just thought I would point that out.
I had no idea this forum, or at least this thread was a place to ridicule fellow Aggies, but maybe it is all in good fun. Either way, put me in coach, I'm ready to play. Maybe I'll check back in a couple of weeks, poke the bear, and have a little more fun with you guys and your club. Something tells me this would be a much different conversation in person. HMMMM. Fire away, I'll stick to the facts, and mix in a little humor on the middle road.

ANNNNNNNNNNNNNND GO!
Oh look at me. Random rookie poster just stopping by to check lease postings and deciding to use my very first post on Texags to congratulate somebody I don't know on finding some hunters for his lease. And by post #4, I know the rules of this place by heart and care enough about the whole situation to write a long-winded rebuttal of the criticisms of some random lease I had never heard of until I just happened by to check the lease listing here on Texags. Obvious OP sock is obvious...

"Trophy Bucks- All Trophy deer must be approved before harvesting by Brad Jerry and Mitch. Text or Email good pics of the deer to Brad, Jerry, Mitch, If you do not follow the approval process then we have nothing other to go by but teeth. If the teeth show less than 7.5 you will be asked to leave the antlers and not return to the ranch. Post approved deer on GroupMe. This allows for anyone with history to chime in. This will help identify bucks others have chosen to let grow because of age."

I mean it does say "asked" but it doesn't seem to come off as a "request"

The only thing I noticed that was false or speculation on here was the day leasing. Everyone is happy though, the lease is filled and you have monster deer. If you are one of the 3 czars or related to them than it is an awesome lease. If you were to join this lease solo not knowing anyone, I don't see how walking on egg shells could be fun. Better off just go pay for a weekend hunt and kill whatever you want and pay the money but just my opinion and doesn't mean poop.

Everyone needs to calm down here and take a chill pill. I am a current member on this lease and it's not what you make it out to be.

Yes, you have to announce when you are coming out to the property. Yes there are rules to prevent hunters from harvesting a young buck. All of the hunters have trail cams and the focus is for everyone to collaborate on the deer in their area and as a group, age the deer for harvest. That responsibility has been pushed down to the hunters and like everything else in life, there are consequences when mistakes are made.

One of my bosses used to tell me "if you did not call me then YOU made the decision. If you call me then WE own the decision"

There are a few old timers on the lease that are not tech savvy but overall, it's a good environment at the campsite

The rules seem to make it pretty clear that that responsibility has been given only to Jerry, Mitch and, Brad or whatever their names are. And I am quite curious...if it is "very unlikely" you will be given permission to shoot a 10+ pt deer, who gets to shoot those trophies? It seems like a lease where nobody is allowed to shoot the true trophy deer, only the very old marginal ones... If you are happy with it, more power to you, but for that kind of money, there is zero chance I am going to go somewhere that I have to ask permission (and can expect to likely be denied) before I can shoot if a huge mature 12 pt walks out in front of me.

Take your baby pants off and shoot the buck…. You just better be correct on the age. Like any organization, good relationships are built with tenure and after you build credibility amongst the group. For the short cycle hunters that come/go every 2 years, those rules need to be in place to avoid set-backs for the herd management.

At the end of the day if you not a seasoned hunter that blows a load when a 10+ buck walks out, then this type of lease is not for you. You should just buy a high-fence hunt every couple years so you can get your fix.

Nice tap dance around the questions of who gets to shoot the big 12+ trophies. But it doesn't really affect me, so more power to you. I hunt on a small low-fenced family property in central Texas and usually shoot does or axis for meat. I think spending a bunch of time trying to get permission to shoot a specific deer and sitting in a stand sweating over whether the deer I am about to shoot is going to get me thrown off the lease sounds absolutely miserable.

I would rather sit on the ground with my back against a tree and watch the wildlife than pay somebody else to put myself through that. I love seeing a buck with a huge rack walk out, but I am usually going to let him walk and wait for a doe or an axis to come by. I am glad you seem to enjoy it there and hope you get a monster this coming season.

Kinda hard to "just shoot the buck" when your group has threats of kicking members off if some dude decides the buck you shot isn't as old as you think it is, or is just pissed you shot "his" buck.

Hey, it works for you guys I guess. But hunting is supposed to be fun, not fuggin work. Good job on getting some suckers to pay your meal ticket though, that is commendable.

Can we see a picture of "your buck"? The buck that when you see a picture of it come across the GroupMe, you would tell the two new guys who are starting the lease this year, "You can't shoot that buck. It's mine."

How will the buck be 'mine' when he is bedded in his area and feeding at his feed station?

I think you guys are ignoring the fact that each hunter essentially has a ~1k acre area for themselves that they claim at the start of each season
