Power pole went down and would not come back up...relieved pressure from the line and lifted it up. Well now, it does not stay up. Have it bungied up right now. Checked the fuse as it seems I lost power to the unit.

Checked with one repair place and said they were 4 weeks out on getting to it. Any thoughts before I take it in?

Call them. Might be circuit board - have had several go out. They will send you a new one.

Is this "power pole" 45+ years old? It may require pharma assistance to regain it former performance.
Today, unfortunately, many Americans have good reason to fear that they will be victimized if they are unable to protect themselves. And today, no less than in 1791, the Second Amendment guarantees their right to do so. - Justice Samuel Alito 2022

I've also heard a newer "repair place" can revitalize your power pole

Now when you say you bungeed it up, did you bungee it at the base? Be sure to get it as rigid in place as possible before applying the bungee.

Don't worry boys the pole still functions...I'll keep you posted if there is a catastrophic failure.

Well done and GigEm!!

Throw another one on the other side and when that gets fixed you'll have a dual setup

Take it off and sell it. Seems to be a common problem. And no more backlashes.

When you say you checked the fuse, I presume you mean the fuse was good and the unit is not working even though you have power through the fuse block? When you commanded it to come back up did it click but not pump AND will the pump still run if commanded down (or at least click)? If so, that is indicative of a relay going bad. You can usually get it to work a few times by tapping on the relay set - but over time that trick works less. (BTW - mine is an older unit, I don't know if the new ones have the same relay setup)

If you are completely dead (no clicks either way) with power to the unit then it sounds like a catastrophic failure of the controller as suggested. Like slammer said - calling power pole is the answer. They're customer service is top notch (imho) once you get them on the phone.

Don't be alarmed that the pole won't stay up after you bled it off to get it up. You manually raised it without providing the hydraulic pressure in the system to keep it in the up position - this is expected and will work itself out in few cycles after you get the pump working again. Mine bled off going down the highway (leaky fitting). I got to my destination with about 8" of fiberglass pole left (it's the old style) the rest was donated to the asphalt. PP doesn't list that as a repair part - when I called them to find one they sent me one free of charge on their dime.

Mine did that when it had a fluid leak and got below some level. It acted like it wasn't getting power. The tank didn't look low, but the leak somehow causing it to not turn on. Thought for hours that it was a battery issue.

It was electrical. Fuses checked out fine but the fuse receptacle was apparently corroded and lead wire was sketchy per the person who did the fix...

I'll mention one other thing he reiterated the positive feedback about the power pole warranty and said he will contact them about some pretty worn parts and was confident they will replace these.

I dunno what and how you like to fish but an I-Pilot trolling motor is the tits. Been a real game changer for soaking bait and trying to stay on top of one spot. It's unbelievably useful at the jetties.
