Are there any sawmills or individuals in east texas? looks like a small tornado came through my gfs family farm on monday and knocked down alot of trees, some of which could be turned into some cool pieces.

any contact info or pointing me into the right direction would be appreciated!

East Texas has numerous sawmills, both hardwood and pine; big companies like GP and small mom and pop operations.

There's a pallet plant in Jacksonville.

You first need to contact either foresters or logging crews to determine merchantability of your timber, and then they will let you know if they will purchase and haul it off.

By an hour and a half north of Lufkin are you talking along Hwy 59? I just came down thru there going to Longview from Nacogdoches and saw lots of trees down along the highway. There is a sawmill just north of Nac on the east side of the road- can't miss it....lots of slabs in piles along the road.

We buy big slabs of various kinds of wood from Phillips Forest Products in Diboll. I'm not the one doing the buying, so I'm not as familiar with it as my brother, but I think they have a full blown mill and specialize in high quality wood.

There's one in Mt. Enterprise.

Where is this Phillips plant?

Southwest corner of 259 and 83. I've never been inside, but I've stopped there a few times with my old man and brother on the way to my deer lease in Clarksville. They're both into woodworking but that's not really my thing.

Alan Lee with Lee's Custom lumber has cut up trees for me in the past. He had a woodmizer portable mill, cuts it up on site. He is between Gladewater and Tyler, so not too far from you.
