We're in the process of building a new home and plan to install a natural gas grill on our covered back patio. Ill keep the Big Green Egg for smoking but want a quality product for everyday grilling. My builders usual source recommends one of the two below. Does anyone have experience with either? Open to any and all recommendations.

https://www.bbqguys.com/lion-premium-grills/40-inch-built-in-gas-grill-l90000-stainless-steel-natural-gas

https://broilmaster.com/grills/stainless-bsg343-built-in/

The Lion runs about $2200 and the Broilmaster around $2800.

Thanks!

I don't have experience with either, but I've been happy with my Blaze grill. I ordered it from BBQ guys last fall when they had it on sale.

I have the Bull Lonestar NG edition and have been happy with it. Although I use it for little more than searing or hotdogs. It'll get up to about 700*.

I just did this and went with the DCS Series 7 36' inch grill in NG. Only cooked on it a few times but it gets super hot. I settled on DCS because a friend has had the same grill for over 10 years with a lot of use and he's had zero issues other than his rotisserie motor finally died.
What do you boys want for breakfast BBQ ?.....OK Chili.

If it were me, I would get a blackstone griddle built in and not a gas grill. Much more versatile IMO, especially considering you have a BGE for smoking, steaks, etc...

I went through BBQ Guys about 5 years ago... I ended up with their Blaze pro 3 burner natural gas grill, Blaze cast aluminum kamado and a stainless undercounter fridge....ended up ordering by phone where they gave me a decent discount for ordering multiple products.....have been extremely pleased with performance and durability.

Going on 9 years with my Blaze from BBQ guys and still going strong. If you go with a flat-top, I'd consider the Blaze over a Blackstone because of the stainless griddle surface. My Blackstone went a couple of weeks without getting used and rusted up to the point I'm going to need to get my grinder after it and resurface.. That's on a covered patio with a covered grill surface and getting a light coat of oil after every use.

I've got a DCS 36 inch I've been very happy with. Tough as nails. But unless you're cooking for a bunch of people, I'd save the counter space and go smaller.

I'm going to do a mini renovation out back and build in my kamodo, put in a flat top, and pull the 36 gas grill and drop down to a 24 inch one. Going w blaze from bbq guys.

My built in DCS has been great.

If it is easy to have a gas line routed to your grill, that makes life simple, but for me it would have been so costly that I've stuck with propane tanks, and it has worked well.

I have 6 of them, and I go switch them out whenever I get low.

Do you know if Blaze had a flat top grate insert for their gas grills? I've looked online and can't seem to find one. That would be ideal for saving counter space.

Not having to have a footprint of a gas grill on your counter for the 2 times a month It's used to heat up sausage or do a quick burger for the kids. Those nights I don't have time to get the Primo going.

I was talking about their 30" flat top griddle so I'm not sure if they make an insert. An insert would be nice especially since I rarely use more than 2 of the grill burners at a time anyway. If I could re-do my setup, I'd have the 30" Blaze griddle next to my BGE and just skip the gas grill.

Lynx Professional grills are very good, I have one in my outdoor kitchen and a side burner.

I have the 32" Lion from BBQ guys. Great bang for the Buck because of all the accessories. The rotisserie and griddle insert are awesome.

Wish I had also gotten the ceramic tamers.

Just built. I have a built-in Blaze gas grill next to a built-in flattop. I love my set up and use both regularly.

I do not have that specific Broilmaster but I purchased a similar Broilmaster a few weeks ago and it is about to go back to the dealer for a refund. I am having major flair up problems with it. It started the first time I used it. Hamburgers, steak, salmon it doesn't mater. It flares as bad as the 20+ year old Weber it replaced.

I think the problem is related to the design of the vaporizers/flare guards. If you look at the picture on the website link you posted, the guards have holes in them. Grease drips off to the meat and goes right onto the burner. If you look at the vaporizers on the Lion you posted it has the more traditional solid triangle vaporizers which worked much better for me on previous grills as it directs the grease away from the burners.

I had a 44" Napoleon 5 burner with a sear zone for years before I moved. Loved it and would recommend. Also recommend going as big as you can. I would cook entire meals with the grill and side burner (another rec for sauces, sauteing, etc. I had a blowout on a burner and those friendly Canadians sent me 5 new ones no charge.

And some people don't think much of the rotisserie, but I used it a ton too. Get different attachments and baskets, like the fish basket (which works great for wings and sliders) and skewer wheel.
