I remember watching a YouTube video by an FFL that screwed an oil filter onto his rifle that was threaded the same as his barrel. He took decibel readings and it did pretty good. Guess big brother needs to go after oil filter companies for selling illegal suppressors

What's weird is i thought they were part of the Executive branch instead of the Legislative branch. There's that poor public education for you

Depends on who you buy it from. If you buy through silencershop you do them at a kiosk at your dealer. Other vendors you might have to do fingerprint cards. You can order the cards and ink from Amazon and roll your own. You can get the ATF to send you the cards, or you can get a local LEO agency to roll them for you for a small fee. I ordered through Amazon but would go a different route next time. There is one vendor that will send you the cards prefilled so that you don't have to worry about making mistakes and then starting from scratch. I did the LEO route years ago for a DOD security clearance and it was fairly painless. Might do that next time.

Thanks for the info. I have a stack of cards (from ATF) and inking stuff leftover from a form 1 a while back.

I was asking because one trustee on my trust can't do electronic prints I think it has to do with the ridges and whorls. The last several silencers I have bought from Champion's and they rolled for us.

I hate that anything short of walking out the door the day of purchase gets us excited…… but alas…. it does.

Today was Day 65 with new E-file. I temper any excitement I feel with the fact that I also have two paper apps pending that are past the Day 620 mark.

I'd contact them, as well as your rep and senator - that is beyond garbage on the ATF.

Their answer is basically "it depends". You know, COVID, which processor took them home during COVID, where you were in the stack, on and on.

I'm not the only one either. I have several friends that are still pending from mid-2020.

That is insane. I am so sorry our govt is so idiotic.

Guys at Supressed Weapon Systems in Stafford went almost two months (Jan-Feb) without any stamps coming in. Just got mine last week for rifle ordered in January 2020. Too early to tell on e-file. If we can get stamps reliably in 5-6 months, it'll be a win.

How are you guys submitting efile applications that have a trust? I am familiar and have submitted my own form 1s on my own but am not sure how it works with the dealer, particularly if you're using their Kiosk.

Would you purchase under the trust, submitted trust paperwork online and can still utilize their fingerprint kiosk? I am sure they're going to want to push you to use their singe shot type trust but that defeats the purpose of already having my own trust.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Capitol Armory is what I used.

You email them a copy of your trust, and send them a fingerprint card.

They put that into their system, email you when form 4 is ready to submit. You spend 5 minutes on the phone and using a computer, they share screen the submission so you can sign off, and enter your eforms username and pin.

After the first time, trust and fingerprints are on file so all that is needed is the phone call to verify submission and enter eforms info.

Super easy.

silencershop has a place on their web application to upload your trust. Eforms does as well.

Yeah, familiar with uploading directly to eforms (atf.gov) just was curious how it worked when walking into the shop and then having to submit paperwork online. It sounds like you just make the transaction in the shop and then follow up online and submit paperwork (trust info), fingerprints and photo(s) independently.

Just certified my eforms this morning. Now it's in the ATF's hands.

My dealer recommended that I do everything online including the purchase through silencershop. They still get a cut of the profit and it makes everything easier. Just had to go to the kiosk for fingerprints and then did the certification there. Make sure you have at least 20 minutes for the fingerprints because the kiosks are really slow.

You should be contacting your reps and senators, that's what they are there for. Because some government bureaucrat employee is simply too lazy (or worse - lost or just threw away the paperwork) to do their job is not an excuse to delay you something for 2 years.

Champion's says they have gotten several back at 55 days. Individual only. Trusts are running longer
