Ags we're moving and I'm helping my three daughters rehome their three small pet bunnies. Now I know that releasing them back to the wild may be what first comes to mind but these bunnies have been pets and my daughters know they wouldn't last long. I promised them I would make every effort to find them a good home. I'm in Montgomery but would be willing to take a Saturday and drive them to a good home. I'm trying not to give them up to a animal shelter. Does anyone know anyone that may have an interest in rabbits/bunnies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rabbits, even those that are raised indoors, adjust well to outdoor life. Not wild outdoor life but backyard outdoor life.

When we moved from Grapevine to Belton we had a black rabbit that never went outside. He was probably 1.5 years old when we moved and we immediately put him in our big backyard in Belton. He never asked to come in again and lived for about 2.5 years back there. We just fed him once a day.

He dug a hole under the shed and spent most of his time down there but would come out at dawn and dusk and come sit by us in the evenings on the deck. Strangely he went from being a lap bunny to almost impossible to catch.

My mom and her dad did this routine in the '60's. Except that Pop took the rabbit back to the guy that supplied it originally.....at the firehouse.
