I have multiple straws and one 10X felt. It is my work hat. It is tough as nails. I live 400 miles away or I would have 2 or 3 more felts.

The "Rodeo King" straw hats (made in Mexico) carried by Catalena's are a great hat, priced right. First one, 3 yrs old, is holding up well, but is sweat stained ugly, so I'm rotating in the one I bought last year, whenever a better look is required (translation...when my wife says "you're not wearing your old hat").

Yeah they keep a lot of stock but they may not have your specific grade in the size you need in the color you want on hand. I had to wait a couple months.

I also buy a straw from them every spring. They stock the heavy duty American hats.

I know there are a lot of old school rules about hats, but in Texas you can wear a straw hat almost 10 months out of the year.

I wear through mine in about 2 years. And I really don't wear it as much as most of the others on this board that work outdoors exclusively.

have several from catalina over the years. just had a 100x felt made by Butler Hatters in Belton. mr butler is 90yrs old. fun experience. quality hat

I've got a 10x Catalina that is in its final year of service as a work hat probably. Wear it every single day and go horseback 3-4 days a week. It's been stepped on and pissed on and **** on and it's lasted 3 years. Pretty good for a cheap 10x. I've had about 5 Catalinas over the years for work hats and they've all held up. I also have a 100x Catalina that I've had for 12 years. I wear it every day that I go to the office with is the 3-4 days I'm not on horseback per week. Wear it to church every Sunday. Still looks as new as the day I bought it. Buy from Catalina with confidence. Regardless of quality you want to buy.

I've got a hat from Trent. The fitting process is pretty cool with their 19th century head shape contraption and quality is top notch. They even gave me a custom piece of nice wood shaped exactly like your head to keep the shape inside the hat for storage if you aren't going to wear it for a while
