Its been a long time since I got some. What are some cleaning product recommendations? Have multiple (brand) semis and revolvers, btw.

Breakfree CLP for everything

Breakfree is awesome stuff. Clean with it and lube just about everything except one 1911 that I use the most. Use a smidge of some red machine grease on the rails for that. Have a small tub I appropriated from our armory and has lasted for many years and will yet.

For cleaning and oiling I use M-Pro 7 or Break Free CLP. For cleaning the bore and copper fouling I use Sweet's 7.62 Solvent.

I started using Frog Lube a few years ago. The first time is a process but after that pretty straight forward. Never had any issues.

Ballistol and torn up old T-shirts.

Gunzilla has taken over for Breakfree for me.

There are many good CLP's out there. I know a lot of people who lubricate with Mobil 1. However Frog Lube is the absolute last thing I'd recommend. In cold temps you will not get off a second shot from a semi-auto that Frog Lube has been used on.

That is what I use. Maybe once every 5 or 6 years do I have to use something stronger.

Lucas oil cleaner

Works really well. Then a lightweight oil coating.

Hoppes #7 has worked for a century or so, i keep using it.
Long range Ag

Soak barrel and slide/spring in simply green and water to loosen carbon/debris

CLP for clean and lube, picks and brushes as needed

Dry w rags

I use a 50:50 mix of transmission fluid and 10 wt 30 light coat on rails, trigger, feed ramp and I keep it around in needlepoint applicator bottle for frequent refreshing

This prob is overkill for polymer pistols but necessary for 1911 limbers etc

For my 1911's and CZ's it's Ballistol with brushing to loosen the carbon deposits. After that I hit it with a degreaser, my preferred is Lucas Oil Extreme Duty Gun Cleaner but Gun Scrubber works too. After being cleaned I'll do CLP for my CZ's and a combination of Lucas Gun Oil or the Extreme version for the 1911's or a very light coating of grease on the rails of my 1911's but it really depends on the gun and time of the year.

Project Farm just put out a video testing firearm lubricants. They missed out on some big ones like Lucas Oil and my sponsor Weapon Shield which has put out similar videos themselves.

In short, Clenzoil was the only one that did well in every aspect of Clean, Lube and Protect. However, like most it failed the cold weather test miserably.

Break Free CLP did 2nd best at lube and the best at cold weather, but it was the worst at corrosion protection.

I've gone almost entirely to this one. They sell great cleaning kits and their battle rope barrel cleaner does a great job.

Slip2000 line and Lucas Oil products have done really well for me the past several years. Sometimes I'll apply some Brian Enos Slide Glide as well.

I threw my Frog Lube in the trash after it gummed up on me in cold weather and even on pistols that sit for a while in the safe at room temp. I wouldn't even give it away to anyone I cared about.

I had that happen to me on a Glock. Promptly swapped back to Lucas Oil products.

G96 Synthetic CLP Gun Oil is what's approved for military use. I used it in the Marines. It's also what the Seals use as well. Exceeds the U.S. military performance specification MIL-PRF-63460E. Their Bore solvent is also great.

Same. I was all in on it 10yrs ago, but after it gummed up, that was it. Lucas has worked well. I wish Project Farm had tested it

Pick any of the recommendations on here (except fro lube) and you'll be good to go. I never had an issue with frog lube personally but there are a lot of documented cases of it being poor in cold weather so why take the risk?

I've used a combo hoppes bore cleaner and slip 2000 lube for years without issue. I've also used hoppes cleaner and hoppes lube without issue. Slip 2000 is my go to lube these days.

Amazon had a gallon jug of CLP for like $15 about ten hears ago. I use it a lot in a spray bottle. I may never run out of it.
