Most have already been mentioned, but here's my list:
JW's in Carmine is excellent. Steaks, chicken strips (my favorite), hamburger steak, beer…. Everything is great.
Hunan's by Wal Mart is good, but pretty much still take out only. The other place, Hoa Son is good. Depending on the dish, I sometimes even prefer them.
Patrones is pretty good and the most popular restaurant in town. Wednesday is margarita night and it gets pretty packed. They are like $2.50.
Bullpen is on a backroad south of town, but a great bar with surprisingly good, cheap food. Burgers are good and if they have them again, the southwest egg rolls are legit. Lots of tv's for sports.
Reba's isn't bad, but more of a chick place. Sandwiches and pizza and stuff like that.
Annie's has good seafood and pretty much the only option for that in town. Fried shrimp are good and fried pickles are legit.
Mel's (doughnut shop in front of Brookshires) has a really good breakfast and they open early. Chihuahua's is the other breakfast taco place, but they are very popular and can usually have a line out the door. Unless no one is there or you really, really want to eat there, it may not be worth it.
I've never eaten at the food trailers because I hate going somewhere hoping they are open. Lots of people do like the food there though so may be worth a shot to try.
For bbq, the city meat market is good, but can be hit or miss. My go to is pork and ribs. Get there around 11:30 for good meat. Lunch only.
El Charro is decent Mexican food to change it up. Not great, but decent.
One of my favorite hole in the wall spots is Walch store in Lincoln. It's the gas station on Hwy 21, but they have a mean bacon cheeseburger and cold beer. Cheap too. That's one of my favorites.
Santa Fe has a great salad bar and pretty good food. I like the shrimp poor boy and fish tacos. Don't get a steak there. Leave that for JW's.
That should get you by for a few days.
