Yes, I appreciate this will be a can or worms, hopefully no on suggests I buy a shotgun!

Looking for a 9mm. Love my Sig 1911, but getting the itch for a 9mm. This will mostly be used for practice/target shooting and I want something that will be accurate and will allow me to install an optic (red dot) in the future. This will not be a concealed carry weapon and I'd prefer a full size (~5" barrel). Also want adjustable sights. Budget is $1,500

Was looking at the following;
CZ75 CS2
Sig P210 Target
Sig P320

Haven't looked into the other brands so if there is something equivalent from Baretta, Glock, etc. please suggest one.

My kid has a Canik TP9SFX that is pretty accurate, and a great value but I hate the trigger on it. Just awful!

My Sig p320 legion x-carry below and others such as the x-five make awesome guns to shoot. The CZ shadows are pretty awesome guns as well!

Do you want precut for an optic or okay with sending it out for mill work after purchase?

Optic ready from factory is going to narrow down your options a lot.

Want to just target shoot recreationally or might want to do competitions with it? Some guns are legal for more competitions than others

I like my HK VP9. They also make an VP9 Match- 5.5" barrel, comes with 4 additional grip options, 3 mags, including a 20 shot mag, good trigger and optics ready.

Can't go wrong with the p226.

Walther PDP 5" has an excellent factory trigger and is optic ready.

HKVP9 and Walther PPQ both also have excellent triggers and are very accurate.

Wilson 1911 in 9mm is extremely accurate soft shooter but not red dot compatible and will challenge your budget.

Have fun!

I just picked up the CZ Shadow 2 SAO in your price range. I think there are Shadow 2 models that come optics ready. I love this gun.

$1500 would get a pretty nice P320 with optic and maybe enough for 3 rounds of 9mm.

I own a Shadow and a p320 legion and the best shooting 9mm I own is the Staccato

I've got two CZ 75 Sp-01s.

One is DA from CZ customs

Other one us SAO from CGW

Both are for sale. I bought em slightly used and have only put around 50 rds in each.

Willing either for $850

I have the exact same gun and really like it.

Bit heavy to carry, but... I might try it now that it's jacket weather.

Love my P320, and want to add a CZ to the collection. Can't go wrong with Sig or CZ

Glock and plenty of budget for a red dot, extended mag, ammo, and money left over.

If you didn't like the trigger on the Canik, you'll hate the trigger on a Glock, and probably the CZ. I have owned both and was very disappointed by them, neither shot as well as the Canik did for me. I would look at the P320 from your short list, and go from there.

The Timney trigger for Glocks is a vast improvement over the stock. I'd say it's on par for a competition trigger from Gray Guns trigger for a P320.

Being a true DAO, I don't see how it can be all that great. That said, my girly hands are a contributor to how poorly I was able to shoot either the Glock or Shadow 2.

The changes that Timney has done with it kept the safe action, yet it feels much more like an M&P. And the one I shot was igniting small rifle primers reliably. Prior to the Timney coming on the market, Johnny Glock triggers were probably my favorite.

Anything against a 9mm 1911?

Plenty of options there.

Go shoot the HK VP9 to compare it to others before you purchase anything!

It replaced my Colt 1911 as my go-to! (not EDC)

. No.

Looked at a Kimber last week and likes how it felt and the trigger was fine.
