Anyone been out there. My wife won a 3 day all inclusive hog hunt for two at a legal CLE. She doesnt hunt so it looks like its gonna be me and buddy.

Never been on an actual "hog hunt." Normally just drink some beers and blast around the ranch in the ranger taking every pig we can find.

I'm expecting it to be geared to the non-hunting type but I really don't know what to expect. At least its 3 day 2 night of free food and board.

You'll get a hog, because they are released from a pen into a high fenced pasture & can't escape.
The only way a pig is getting out is in a truck bed, though I suppose suicide may be an option.

You'll be locked inside your blind for the duration of the hunt & allowed to shoot in only one direction.

Why are you locked in, you ask? Well, if you were allowed to exit the blind, you would enter into a deathtrap of interlocking fields of rifle fire from the 43 other hunters in blinds on the 60 acres.

Pro Tip: Be sure to bring plenty of food, water & a poop bag for yourself. Body armor & a helmet may also be advisable.

Ouch sounds like I'll be letting this "free trip voucher" waste away in a dump somewhere. Guy seems like a real piece of ***** He valued this free hunt at 1600.00, but does the same thing for 99.00... whats the odds he took that 1600 off his taxes. Seems like they give away alot of "free" hunts then slam people with all kinds of fees.

Took some clients here not too long ago. Wasn't my cup of tea. Walking with a group of guys all day thru the woods with ARs while the owner drives behind you in a ranger is not fun. They also are extremely strict about 3 rounds only in your gun at all time (due to incident already mentioned). Just a very weird way of hunting. And extremely dangerous. Don't know why they don't just have you shoot from a stand. When pigs start running, instinct takes over to start popping off rounds, and you better hope your buddy 50 yards to your left doesn't pop you while shooting at a running pig. No idea how this place is still in business. Also expensive as hell. Think it was like 1 dollar per pound.

So just because I'm bored on a Monday, I looked at their website and the overview of the blind layout. Using google earth to estimate acreage here's what I came up with. On this property of about 275-300 acres, there are 25 blinds or basically a blind for every 12 acres! And that doesnt even count the camp house in the middle of the property. Wow.....

I won one of these "free" hunts from them a while back, but I never went on it. When I contacted them to claim it, I discovered that their version of free is different than my version. It all started with the MANDATORY GRATUITY when you arrive. I forget what the amount was. Then it was the $1/Lb for them to skin your pigs and you're not allowed to skin your own. I harassed them so much that I'm banned from their FB page.

I bet If you ask nicely there's an good ag on here with a hog problem that will happily take you on a free hunt.

I went on a bachelor party a few years and I got there and during orientation learned that A) if you shoot a pig you're not allowed out of your blind to get it because shooting lanes are too close and b) anything you shoot has to be cleaned and they charge per pound.

I then opted for the non hunter option and just sat around and drank beer weekend.

It's such an incredible scam and so unsafe. Guys I were with said there bullet holes in the walls of their blind they were sitting in.

No thanks. And Ranch Boss is an absolute ass hat. We had an incident with belligerent guest and could never get ahold of the guy to come help out and take care it.

And oh yeah...You're wife didn't win anything. That email gets blasted out to anyone on their list.

It was at a large Legal CLE event. She won it in a raffle. That's why I'm assuming he is writing it off as a donation. I bet he does this to any event that will take his "free" *****

I had 2 buddies from the office go on this deal one time. They invited me, but once I saw you had to pay a per pound fee per hog shot, I declined. With my major Ammo investment, I would be in a world of hurt after emptying a 30 round mag, once I made it to checkout.

I make one comment on this thread and big brother starts sending Ad's to me for this place.

Looks like they've had some run ins with the Texas AG over their business practices.

And honestly if places that accept his 'free' trips as prizes knew how shady this place is I'd think most would just decline with a simple 'Thanks but no thanks'.
