Most comfortable I've had were timberlands, also least durable.

Wolverines we're easiest break in / easiest & cheapest to replace.

Longest lasting have been redwings. But, really long and painful time to break in. I have a wide foot and ended up with the king toe.

Sounds like next pair may try some thorogoods.

Very true, anyone buying red wing should be aware of this. They are very durable and comfortable once worn in though.

My feet have been happiest in Keens.

I've worn many different styles and they have all worn like iron and been comfortable.

However I also recommend Danner and Thorogood.

Redwing 4471 are my favorite. Extremely comfortable without having to break them in.

Railroad work? 8 inch is pretty high.

I'm wearing Keen Pittsburgh models. I've had these boots almost 7 years and they've held up really well.

For some reason I do not find regular boots comfortable but find lace up 5.11 much more comfortable.

My husband has always worn RedWings since he has to wear steel toe at work. This year he did Cuero for his boots and I think have really enjoyed them. They don't bunch/drop around the leg like his Redwings did.

As far as red wings go, I'd say I put mine through the ringer.

Wear mine everyday on concrete. The secret to any boot is insoles and I buy the $75 Red wing insoles they've got. Better than any other brand I've found and I've tried quite a few.

WelpI am not spending $225+ for a boot that I have to spend $75 out of the chute to upgrade. At that point buy the Heritage line.

And dr scholls are better at $20 a foot

I feel like over the last ten years, boots that I used to think were completely and noticeably better are now pretty much just like all the others.

Double H, Redwings used to be standards. Now, My Chinese Ariat s have lasted 6 years and redwings, double h have 3 star reviews and die after 24 months.

It's like they are all pretty average now. I do not understand why. Even thorogodd boots have pretty meh reviews. They don't seem to have any decent pull ons.
