I have these green worms all over my yard which I have learned are called beet armyworms, and I have read can cause a lot of damage by eating your grass. Other than setting my whole yard on fire, what's the best way to kill them?

I see lots of these effers in my yard, driveway, and on my back porch. Can I afford to wait a 2-3 days for a pest/lawn company to come out and take care of them?

Not sure how fast they will eat the grass.

If it a home lawn, I would suggest Acelepryn. Much longer residual.

Thousands in my lawn in North Austin. Hundreds or thousands at my in laws place in South Austin. Never seen them like this in the 14 years I've been in Austin.

Depends how big your yard is and how bad they are, but probably not. They're quick. The yard will probably come back, but it'll look dead until it does.

Just get this. Quick and easy. Covered about 1 acre worth of lawn in a few hours.

How many bottles of that did you need for one acre?

Could I also just spread some diatomaceous earth on my yard to kill them?

Yes. But a product with bifenthrin will work effectively, too, and is relatively inexpensive and easy to find at any Lowe's, Home Depot, or ACE.

That spray stuff works really well. But, I use granules on a regular schedule.

1. Set your whole yard on fire.
2. Post video to OB.
3. Profit!!!
Won’t comply. Won’t surrender.

In addition to a powerful army they also have a formidable air force.

Is bifenthrin safe to put in my yard with kids and pets?

My wife is totally not on board with that idea, and I'm like we need to use drastic measures.

I wouldn't put a spoonful of the stuff in my coffee. But on the yard, it's fine.

ETA: If she's worried, use the granules one evening and turn the sprinklers on. It'll be fine in the morning.

In general, is it safe after X hours or days once it settles in? And is it the same if the spray version is used?

My wife really wants an all natural method, but not even that Chemfree company that tries to be low impact uses anything other than bifenthrin to treat armyworms.

Make sure you apply it twice within 10-14 days

Safe, to me, is a relative term. The product, if applied properly, is completely safe, IMO. Your wife may be considered extremely dangerous, however.

It is 100% safe if you put it out one day when she's not home, dispose of the bag properly, and water that evening.

I promise that she'll barely notice your kids' stutter.
