How long do you want to ignore this user?
Been wanting to do a refresher course for awhile for various first aid stuff, as well as build on the skills I have already. Many moons have passed since my last CLS courses, so I wanna kinda start over.

Eventually will progress on to WFR/AWFA/etc, but for now I want to find a WFA course. MY CPR/AED cert expired back in 2020, so if the course has that as well its a bonus.

Anybody know of any between BCS/North Houston? I know recsports used to offer it, but not sure if they still do.

For CPR.

Wilderness first aid. Next course in October.

Maybe try searching other organizations that may offer other dates.

Rei does a course but covid messed up there schedules. They partnered with another organization. I'll look for the name.

The Sam Houston council classes have been completely full this spring. Lots of demand as people try to get trained prior to doing high adventure trips. If you reach out to the contact on that link they my open up another class. This was caused by covid as all last years classes were cancelled. Lots of demand.

You might be better off waiting if you can to let some of the demand work it self out.

NOLS thru rei: - shows no classes.

Went to the nols website and they have some listed in other parts of the country.

Thanks but I do not need training. Currently saving for medic school. Was posting for others.

Get on the wait list for the NOLS course through REI. It's hands down the best option. The wilderness medicine institute at NOLS essentially sets the industry standard for wilderness medicine.
Texas A&M - 148 years of tradition, unimpeded by progress.

Thanks for all the recs.

I had looked at the NOLS list previously, but not gonna drive to Colorado for the course, as much as I wish I could. Good idea to get on their waitlist.

Will also reach out to the BSA over in Huntsville.

Austin, so not between BCS and Houston. I've taken WFA and refreshers through them and it was 10X better than any training I've done with BSA.

If you end up taking the Wildlerness First Aid class through Circle Ten (BSA---Dallas area), I am one of the instructors.
