I know we have plenty .30-30 lever rifle fans like me. Just curious if anybody has opinions whether positive or negative on this round.

I know that if I had one, I could have had two boxes of ammo every trip to Academy during Covid.

Ballistics comparisons make it an interesting option but enjoy my 45-70 too much to buy a 350 Legend. AR platform compatibility does have an appeal as well.

I am intrigued with the .350 in an AR15 platform, but considering the more readily available 7.62X39 it seems like a novelty that will fade in popularity over time.

You'll hate it. Don't buy it.

Just kidding, have one myself and just don't want to share ammo. It's been pretty good so far. It shoots flatter than I expected. Longest shot I've taken was 300 years with it, and was expecting a drop like a 45-70, but it's more like a 30-30 in that regard. I haven't killed anything with it yet, but probably won't shoot past 150 or 200 yard on a pig or coyote. Recoil is snappier than I expected, based in casing size you expect 223, but it's more more powder and bullet so it'll surprise you. It's still not bad, don't get me wrong, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a youth or women's caliber. It suppresses well.

Only beefs I have are with the rifle, not the round. Have a ruger American ranch, and the thread pattern on it is 1/2x28, which is useless for a 35 caliber round. Had to buy a threading adapter to move up to a larger can. Also, been plagued by failure to feed. I don't know if that's the rifle, the magazine, or the shape of the FMJ rounds I've been using, but haven't taken the time to experiment with it yet

Back in oct or nov the bryan walmart had the winchester fmj for 9.99. Boxes of them. I thought about building an AR upper just because.

I would love to see an M1 carbine or Colt Lightning style pump action in .350.

It's being marketed heavily in areas that only allow rounds that are straight-walled cases. Used to be shotgun-only, but laws are expanding into allowing these rifle rounds.

I would only be interested in it if I lived in a State that required straight walled cartridges for deer hunting. If I did and couldnt move I would probably go for one.

But down here it is just another cartridge. I don't see how it gives any advantages over several other options.

Don't get me wrong, I love variety, but it would not be my first choice.

The cartridge is now available in several brands of bolt actions, and I believe it's here to stay, due to some state laws.
I built an AR in the 350, just "because". Why Winchester built it around. 0.355" bullet is beyond any sound logic.

If you aren't hunting in state with those weird "straight-walled cartridge only" rifles regs, then I'd say avoid the caliber. It is a workaround for a problem you may not have.

That said, if you just wanna pew pew pew a bunch, then by all means proceed & report findings!

Interested in hearing your thoughts on a .35 caliber projectile. I don't own a .350 Legend, but have shot many northern whitetails with a .35 Rem. That 200 grain bullet thumps.

350 legend at my academy all during Covid. The it was gone and 450 bushmaster was always there. 224 valkyrie always there.

I have an ar15 lightweight receiver set but can't decide on caliber.

I already have 5.46, 7.62x39, 6.5 Grendel, 6 ARC and 300 blk. What else is worth building that gives me something different or better?

35 rem is a thumper for sure. But dont load those cases with .355" bullets or it won't be.

That's the issue with the Legend. There aren't good bullet options. They should have gone with a traditional rifle sized 358 bore.

Ahh...slight bullet difference. Thank you. The factory cartridge industry must really hate reloaders.

Ruger American owners have reported failure to feed from the current magazine. I suspect Ruger has a fix if you contact them.
