Anyone have a recommendation for someone who makes rifle slings??
I'm guessing any leather worker could do this in theory but would like someone with experience who understands the necessary comfort and fit needed.

Backstory, I have an alligator hide that i want made into 4 matching slings. 1 will be for me and the others for my dad, brother and brother in law for Christmas. As the gator hide is thin it will needed to matted or sewn to a thicker more durable leather material. I caught the gator on our farm and had the hide tanned/dyed burgundy and it has a nice maroonish look. Ive been struggling with what to do with the hide and since i cant wear boots anymore this sounds like a good alternative. I was also thinking maybe some wallets or checkbook covers with whatever leather is left over.

Not sure where you're located but check out Maida's Boot and Shoe in Houston. They do all kinds of leather work like that. Good people who do good work.

who tanned the hide for you?......got any pics?

Janik Alligators in El Campo skinned it out for me and sent it to a tannery in Florida. I'll have to see if I can find their name

Probably Sebring Tannery in Florida Also American Tannery in Georgia. Both have done a good job for me in the past.
