Just picked up a couple of boxes of this ammo from Academy for my AR. 1/7 twist, 16.5" barrel.

Any of y'all fired this brand before? Opinions?

Edit for barrel twist. 1/7 not 1/9

May have accuracy issues with 1/9. But any ammo is good ammo now

Yeah that's really hot for 1/9

Lake city brass, Hornady bullets, loaded by LC IIRC. Frontier is an old brand name they brought back for this collaboration that is a little cheaper than pure Hornady stuff.

If your gun likes it, should be g2g.

Several of my Go mags are loaded with the 75gr Frontier HPs.....
Given some of the issues that have been going on, as of late, I wanted a little heavier projectile.

Given the present situation with ammo, I'm not sure I'd put these in the training round category just yet.
There for a while 75gr anything was harder to find that the 55gr, so I've held on to my 75s.

OP, I am the process of receiving a 13,000 round barrel of Frontier 55 grn 556.

It's good ammo for what it is. Loaded in Mil spec brass (heavy case wall, crimped primer, sealed case) by LCC with mil spec low flash powder and Hornady bullets. It's bulk ammo loaded to bulk ammo tolerances.

You won't win an F Class match with it, but for general use it is good stuff.

Guys... you are doing this totally wrong....

OP... don't listen to any of them... this stuff is pure trash.... it may even hurt your gun or explode on you. Depending on where you're located, there are several of us here that would be more than happy to help you dispose of it. All in the name of public safety, of course. If in Houston, I call dibs.

Ha! Yes, I'm in Houston and I now have my answer.
I wouldn't want you getting hurt, so I'll take it upon myself to scoop up all I can and get rid of it.
