last night around midnight the rib said she heard some loud booms. since the house alarm wasnt going off i just went back to sleep. I guess she got an alert the scanner was active on her phone and went outside

let me set this up, my house is on the road going out of town, people drive stupidly through there. the most recent entry was this guy was lost control, went across a small field, hit the concrete ditch, went airborne and cleared the 8 ft wooden fence, & ended up hitting the roof of the garage and fell and landed on its side.

so i hope those with schadenfreude enjoy this

ETA - this house is catty corner to me

Had a neighbor who's master bedroom was saved by the pool. Car went through a brick wall and into the pool.

Wife called Monday morning to tell me there was an single vehicle accident that was going to shut down the highway.

I was on HWY59 taking my kid to the dentist in Sugarland and saw a flipped 18 wheeler. Did a double take because there was nearly a dozen Mexicans on the shoulder with those emergency blankets on.

Turns out they were smuggling them in the truck and it flipped outside Hungerford.

Wharton county has everything going for it except deer lease feuds.

That may have ended after the mailman was killed by a teen that was speeding and not paying attention in broad daylight a few years back.

Worked at HEB in EC while attending WCJC (or Harvard on the Colorado as I call it.) they unload the 18 wheelers they'd bust on 59 in the back, always amazed but the size of the bundles you'd see. The Pierce Troopers don't play.

Ever been outside the city limits of El Campo? Not exactly picturesque scenery in most places. Never understood building a house in the middle of a field with no trees.

I'll never understand living close enough to someone else that you can tell if they mowed their grass. I'll take a beautiful rice field or cotton field over a privacy fence everyday.
