Have a m5 based 16" 308 build that's almost done, just waiting on a backordered handguard. Looking at optics and strongly considering the accupoint 1-6 w/ mil dot reticle. Pretty inexpensive and I like the lack of batteries. I have a pretty bad tendency to leave illumination on and kill the battery.

Used for hogs mainly. and used 95% of the time at < 150yd with rare usage out to 300ish (range mainly at 300yds).

$2000 is more or less my max but for my ranges don't know that its worth stepping up to the Kahles k16i or NX8 or equivalent. Price of the accupoint leaves room for a nice QD mount (family uses thermals as well so quick on/off is really nice).

Great scope. I prefer the green triangle, but mildot good to go.

The amber reticle may be more visible at sundown, but they don't have in mildot I believe I haven't checked if they do so could be wrong.

Also the 2.5x10 also is a great choice.

With the nx8 series you're paying for the glass and the compact footprint, the throw lever. It's worth the extra money. Love that series. But the accupoint will do you just fine as well

I didn't like the Mil-Dot Accupoint in the 1-6. The green dot was small and not very bright. Kinda defeated the point of the dot for me.

i have one on my shorty 762x39. i've always liked the optic on other set ups, but i think it fits in right at home on at this current set up for what i'll use it for.

Thanks for the response. The triangle is interesting. I'm guessing quicker on target close range but less precise at distance? I think the accupoint is what I'm leaning towards. Definitely good enough for my uses. Leaves some extra money for other toys.

And yeah I've used the NF ATACR a bit on a a family members Gun and it is glorious. Not light like the NX8 is but the glass is perfect and I love the reticle.

I'll have to see if I can find a triangle and a mil dot to look through near me. I agree 100% if the dot isn't bright it completely defeats the purpose. I have heard the accupower/credo dots weren't bright at all which is what lead me to the accupoint

Great looking gun. What suppressor are you running? I've got a sandman-s in jail right now. Have a 12" grendel (thanks eyeguy) that I can't wait to try suppressed.

That one is a SilencerCo omega. Have several and try to keep a dedicated suppressor to each rifle. Have three more in jail right now

I have the Sandman-S and no issues. While I wouldn't mind another suppressor or two for specific purposes, some of us don't "need" a suppressor for every rifle in the safe. Not mentioning any specific posters in this thread by name.

at that price range couldn't you squeeze in a 1-8 or 1-10?

Yeah the NF nx8 i mentioned is the 1-8 I'm heavily considering. Good price on the demo from Eurooptic. Also looking at the new gen 3 razor 1-10. Always happy to spend less money when able to though. Been selling some unused stuff and putting the money towards new toys. The less I spend on an optic the more I can spend on toys like the stribog sp9a1 I just ordered.

Depending on your distance a 1-8 or 1-10 may be a better fit with the .308

I have the Riton X3 Tactix 1-8 on my 300blk SBR and have been pretty pleased with it. Hunting hogs/yotes/coons with R/G lights at night and it stays on 6x for the most part, so I just use dope from strelock and have plenty of hold overs to get out to 300+, but most are 150 an in. Optics Planet has it $100 off MSRP right now.

Yeah that's where I usually start - checking their demos and close outs! I've been looking closely at the NF

Thanks everyone for your input. Decided on the NX8. Waiting handguard so wont be using this for a few more weeks at least. Went ahead and got it mounted on a larue lt-204.

Got 10% off the online price from eurooptic after reaching out to them so pretty pleased with the price.
