This isn't an assault weapons ban. It's a ban on all firearms. All they did was list every gun for sale on gunbroker and sprinkled in some legalese BS to capture all "variants." Dafuq is a Benelli shotgun doing in "assault weapons" legislation???

That list contains pretty much every rifle or shotgun routinely used for hunting in the United States. It isn't just semi-autos. The list includes Remington 700s, Ruger M77s, pump shot guns, side by side and O/U shotguns, lever action rifles, Ruger No. 1 single shots, rimfire rifles with pretty much any kind of action, etc. This is a list designed to encompass basically every long gun in America, and the dems are either crazy for believing they can make this legislation stick, or they are trying to start a civil war with it.

Reset the clock on the firearms and ammunition shortage.

Roberts will side with the dems from here on out IMO. He has shown no evidence of a spine on any matter of importance, and I think it is clear at this point that he is either a lib or hopelessly compromised.

Exactly. And not even have to be leftists.

There are entire research catalogs delving into the psyche of troops enforcing questionable and morally wrong decisions onto populaces. We have literally millenia of examples to pick and choose from but the most famous and studied of course, is the German military in WW2.

I dearly wish History was held in higher regard by society. Just a general comment btw and not directed at anybody in particular.

Point is, there are uniformed personnel that will use force to take arms from the people if ordered to do so. And that number would only increase with time after the initial steps.

Overnight this would make over 100 million citizens be felons. Crazy

I bet anything they put basically every gun under the sun into their list so that when it gets rejected, they will come back with a "more reasonable list."

This is part of the game to say that they are still "allowing" bolt guns etc and not including everything. Its a trick to try and make the next one not look "as bad."

Not technically. There is a provision (line 22 on page 16) that - as I read it - exempts firearms currently in possession.

Also, this doesn't apply to bolt guns, pump action shotguns, or a few other varieties of firearms (line 3 on page 17)...just semi-autos and autos (already covered in other legislation).

But, yeah, this is bonkers. Written by some legislative staffer with enough Google skills to find GunBroker.

That's delusion unfortunately. Lots of leftists in the guard and in the military, but more importantly, conservatives have proven over and over again that they won't do anything when the left takes their rights. Nothing happened when the assault weapons ban was passed under Clinton, and nothing will happen if this one passes, or if anything else passes.

Make no mistake. Their goal is to completely disarm America.

Probably? There are 700,000 law enforcement officers in the ENTIRE United States. Texas alone has probably 9 million gun owners.

Just an interesting fact, but Texas has more citizen gun owners than all the branches of the military, all national guard, all reservist, and all law enforcement of the US combined.

Also bear in mind that there were over 7 million first time gun buyers in 2020 alone. That's an incredible number
