Completely new to the thermal or even NV game. Saw this and thought at the price why not.

Any opinions?

I have their OTS-HD 640 monocular and it has been great for two years I've used it. Easy to navigate, quality optics and zero problems.

Stay away from the cheap ATN stuff. Bering Optics is about to release a new scope called the Hogster Stimulus for 1499 which will be much better. Go to OutdoorLegacyGear for more info. Release is slated for March could be April but I would stay away from Atn's poor customer service and track record.

I have two ATN products, X-sight and Thor LT. Both are great and easy on the wallet for entry level optics.

X-Sight 4k Pro is 5-20x. Works really well past 100yds. The IR light that is included in this package sucks. Just for "Liking" their FB page, they shipped me an upgraded light for free ( $150 value) . Which I though was cool of them.

Thor LT is 3-6x and works best under 100yds. The Lt is a no "Frills" optic, no camera or wifi/bluetooth.

One shot zero works really good on both scopes, once you figure it out.

With either scope, I would highly recommend the American Defense Mfg QD mount and throw away the mounts and screws that come with it.

Edit to add, the battery life on both products is outstanding at 8+ hours.

My ATN Thor 4 640x480, 1-10x model has been a major disappointment....and it's not their cheap unit. Bad washout, regardless of atmospheric conditions. Returned to ATN, nothing improved when it was returned.

Shoulda bought a Pulsar.....

Lots of better options out there than ATN to gamble with such a big ticket item in my opinion. I like my Super Hogster from Bering Optics, but would also consider Pulsar and AGM as better choices than ATN if I were recommending entry level brands for newbies.

The 160 units are going to be hard to use. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with the Thor-LT 320 units. Bit more washout than I'd like, but get a high enough magnification and they are pretty decent. But then you're well on the way to PARD pricing and those are pretty damned good.

Did you ever get to post a pard thermal review? And do you have them listed on the website? my search comes back no results.
NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

I have an ATN Thor, ATN X-Sight 4K, and a high-end IRay RICO (about 2-3 times the price of an ATN). I've seen the haters bandwagon on the ATN but those folks either forget what value is, or are bitter that they blew the bank on their high-end thermal. In either case, the ATN has its place and is both a great entry-level and value scope. Not speaking for the LT version as that's about as low quality as one can find.

I still recommend ATN for most and save that extra few thousand dollars for other things like ammo, more firearms, etc. I love the new iRay RICO but recognize that it isn't needed for having a great time out there popping pigs.

PS - you might find the Facebook group "Night Vision and Thermal Hunting Videos" helpful. There are a lot of ATN haters/pubescent kids on there from time to time, but it is managed by the great guys at Ultimate Night Vision out of Ft Worth. You can pick up some good tips.

This. If you like getting out to the middle of no where to hunt and want your scope to stop working at the worst time, buy an ATN. Otherwise buy a better brand. ATN is the Ford Pinto of the night scope world and for good reason. Best thing I did was return them.

Thanks for the feedback y'all. Having a big pig problem. Down here on the coast. Neighborhood HOA has given the go ahead to start plinking them. Longest shot would be just over 100 yards.
