The lease near Freer is heck on tires. Has anyone found anything that is mesquite proof. The truck will mostly stay at the lease, so highway ride is not much of a concern. Thanks

Interested as well.

I never had a problem with 10ply wranglers when it comes to mesquite thorns. Especially when the tires are loaded with sealer. When I worked out of Midland, my boss kept 5gal containers of what was labeled as gorilla blood sealant. We put close to a quart in each tire and never got flats from thorns.

It looks like "Flat Out" tire sealant may be what we were using.

important things to remember with any "sealant" or "slime":

- Don't plan on having any comfortable ride on the highway. Your balance will be way out of whack
- Do not put them in anything with TPMS - you'll fry the sensors
- Some of them can be corrosive and I've seen them create bead sealing issues

None of those things are really an issue on a "lease truck" but just wanted to throw those out there as an FYI

Cooper ST Maxx have an extra layer of steel belt. Ive ran them over a lot of mesquite and locust with no leaks.

Gensco Tire has the best sealant. And tires.

It was always the sidewall for me. Have always run a E-rated, 10-ply tire with reinforced sidewalls such as Cooper or BFG's.

No magic formula, but it helps. My friend has an old Korea era "Mutt" with re-siped airplane tires. Basically solid rubber. Will bounce you around, but nothing bothers those ties.

I hunted back in the day with a group of old guys who put the slime stuff in their tires. They also had an extra bottle of propane in each vehicle to fill tires if they had a flat.. BUT if you take that rig into town to have a flat fixed you need to tell the guy the tire is full of propane!

I have been running RP Spartan 12-PLY Run-Flats on my Mule and they are great. Ride is a little rougher but no flats.
