I've ****ing had it. 4 floods, a tornado, a hurricane, a near wildfire, and now this just in 5 years. I am sick of my *******ed ranch turning into a full time hair on fire job every time the world isnt completely calm.
Am planning the next ranch. 100% off grid.
Direct hit from f5 tornado? No problem, pour another drink and video it for some youtube income. Polar vortex -20 degrees? Pour another drink and turn the heat up to 85 in the house. Flood? Who cares? Watch it all go by. Emp? No problem. Nuclear bomb? Well, ok, you gotta die sometime.
Bottom line i am never heating well tanks, hauling horse water, wrapping pipes, dripping faucets, hauling **** away from floods, trying to feed and water freaked out cows, running or barricading from hurricanes, having nowhere to go for tornados, **** all that.
Planning 2500 sq ft living
2500 shop
1200 barn
1200 attached tall shed
I guess probably 40kw running electrical load.
Should i look at a mix of wind/solar/propane for power? What is most reliable and easiest to manage/maintain - self-regulate? Internet/cell tower?
How do you keep well/septic/plumbing totally impervious regarless of fire, freeze, flood or anything else?
How much clearing do you need for a forest fire break? Anything better than a metal building for that?
Can all that be built for a 200mph sustained wind load?
Are there any contractors that build really durable *****
Ideas welcome. This is probably going to happen in the brenham-belleview-austin county-wharton county area.
Im also getting the **** out of any major county. If i have to shoot someone for real this time, or someone's animal on my ranch, or whatever, i am not going to be judged by a soros da or a jury full of foreigners or urban yuppies with no clue about life.
