I found a firearm I'd like to buy in Texas Gun Trader. It's priced about right, maybe a little low. Seller is brand new and claims he is in El Paso (which raises suspicion since it is a bit far to drive). I want to use an online escrow company and wonder if any will accept firearms as the product that is being exchanged.

I have found two others: Elite2A and Guntab that support firearms. Any experience with these?

Be careful. There have been some scammers in TGT claiming to be from El Paso. Sorry that doesn't answer your question.

marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 for $650? If so, I went down that road and passed. Said I'd meet face to face with cash and communication stopped after that.

I wouldn't buy anything from a new seller in El Paso. 100% sounds like a scam.

I wouldn't send money until the firearm is in the hands of FFL you both agree to use.

Next to seller's name in their posting there is a crosshair. Click it and it will show an approximate location based on IP address at the time of posting.

Right now, if a gun is not priced at "sh**, I don't want to pay that much, but I can't find it anywhere else", then it's probably a scam.

Lol, I indeed did this after he wrote in saying that "Guntab burned" him so he won't use them. I emailed him back letting him know I'd be coming through Las Cruces next week that we could meet up. I don't I'll hear from him. It's nice that TGT has a easy way to report scammers. Ah well, back to looking for a second SBL (or waiting for Ruger to ramp up Marlins next year)!

It'd add some hassle, but if you really want the gun, have a local FFL in El Paso broker the deal. I would expect most would do it for <$50 plus shipping.

Unfortunately the gun will be in their books doing that, but it guarantees you get what you paid for
