I have both and love them. Whatever you do, go with Kydex. Friend of mine's dad blew a 9mm hole out of his calcaneus two years ago using a less than stellar holster.

Only one name worth mentioning for quality active retention holsters. Safariland.

The ALS series is affordable and the aftermarket is great.

Been about a month into using a Tier 1 and like it. Good quality.

Buy about 20 different ones, find the most comfortable and throw the rest in a drawer. This topic pops up quite often and you will get several different opinions. You yourself are going to have to find something that works best in your carry style with your body. I've seen a lot of people who choose not to carry because the couple of holsters they tried were uncomfortable.

Safariland won't fold and cause an ND risk. Also active retention is peace of mind against the fun potentially falling or being grabbed. Just as fast on the draw too.

I have a Kramer horsehide IWB that I have carried a G23 for over 25 years. It's never "folded". Just as stiff as the day I bought it.

I wish I could say the same about me

I have used a bravo concealment torsion every day for three years now. I find it very comfortable for 3-4 o'clock carry IWB. Affordable, and have not had anything break or wear out in three years of wearing it 8+ hours a day.

What's the intended use? An ALS won't help you any if you intend to carry concealed IWB. Do you want to carry it appendix, 2p, 3p, 5p, SOB? There isn't a "fits all" holster for each of those IMO

I've never carried before. Just bought the pistol because I got my CCP recently. Also, I'm a little overweight and worried about comfort w/an IWB holster

I've had a lot of success carrying my 19 in a Fierce Defender appendix holster and the T-Rex Arms Sidecar holster (also appendix). I started out with Fierce Defender and still use it on occasion. It's the most comfortable for me and easily conceals if you add the "claw" to your build. I recently switched to mainly using Trex Arms sidecar due to buying a new weapon light and wanting to carry an extra magazine.

At this point I can only fully recommend solid kydex holster but i do have a leather holster sitting in the back of my closet from Bullard in Texas. You can tell it's quality leather and they are passionate about what they do but for holster I wont use it again. I do plan to buy a belt from Bullard some day.

I tried so hard to get into appendix carry. Just goes to show how individual to the person holster selection can be. I have a Tier 1 like pictured above and can't stand it.

After four digits of cash and double digit holsters.....I am back to a mix of Alien Gear and Tulster IWB. Should have just stuck with it from the beginning...

Ducks.........Which Glock is that? Assuming Gen 5.

I go back and forth between a G26 and 19 for everyday carry. Currently using Alien but have been wanting to try the Tier 1 and will soon.

Thanks. Which model Glock? MOS or did you have the slide machined?

No more questions. Thanks!

JM and Safariland have both been making quality holsters for years. They're easily some of the best in the business.

Neal touched on it earlier: Stay away from leather. Worn holsters collapsing and causing ND's is a real thing.

Maybe should create a thread but will see what happens bumping this will do....

I have a Tier 1 and really like it. Tooks a while to get use to it but now it honestly just feels "normal'.

Only been daily carry for about 5 months.

Coming into summer I have one slight "issue" and that is I don't wear black belts...just brown...so the black clips stand out like a sore thumb. In winter I always wear an extra layer so the contrast is not an issue.

Question...anyone successfully painted their belt clips? I think I know what I need to do but curious if any actual experience...

Personally I like Pull the Dot soft loops for belt attachment and you can get them in brown leather and add to most kydex holsters.

Thanks. That is probably the first brown option i have seen.

I may try light sand, prime and paint my current first but if that doesnt work this might be an option.

The other option i am thinking about is the Ulticlip but i just feel like it could weight down my pants a bit more than i want...
