Disclaimer: Yes, I know we've all heard about it, and lots have read it, and it's been out for years.
now.....

OP, if you have not read John Wesley Rawles' PATRIOTS - A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse you might enjoy it, and pick up a few things along the read that could be useful someday. Not a bad time now to read it, either.
"Green" is the new RED.

Not exactly outdoors/hunting but "on Wings of Eagles" by Ken Follet is a great read. True story of Perot getting his people out of Iran when things went sideways over there. Pretty nuts.

The Final Frontiersman
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

South Pole exploration and extreme outdoors survival stories:

The Worst Journey in the World - Apsley Cherry-Garrard

Endurance - Alfred Lansing

Interesting book for everyone outdoors, because you don't need to burn down your deer stand when you see a Yellowjacket.
The Sting of the Wild - Justin Schmidt (awesome book for non science people about stinging insects and how they evolved)

I love these threads because I'm always looking for good content to read.
I'm going to throw down a pretty long list.
Many of these were recommendations from the OB in the past.

Sorry for any misspellings or grammar. Had to bang this list out pretty quick.

HUNTING AND FISHING
"Sow belly: The Obsessive Quest for the World Record Largemouth Bass" by Monte Burk. The title says it all. This is a fun and easy read.

"The Old Man and The Boy" by Robert Ruark. This is one of the greatest hunting and fishing books ever written. It details a boy's relationship with his grandfather as he learns to hunt and fish.

"Don't Shoot the Decoys" and "The Duck Gods Must Be Crazy" both by Doug Larsen. These books have well written, sometimes comical, stories on of duck hunting around the country.

"The River Why" by David James Duncan. It's a fictional coming of age fly fishing story. One of my favorites.

"Trout Bum" or any book by John Gierach. These are humorous and well written stories on fly fishing.

"If You didn't Bring Jerkey, What Did I just Eat" or any work by Bill Heavy. Bill Heavy is a humor writer for Field and Stream, and these are collections of his hunting and fishing stories.

"They shoot Canoes Don't They" or any work by Patrick F. McManus. Similar to Bill Heavy, Patrick McManus was a humorist writer for Outdoor Life and he has several books that are collections of outdoors stories.

"The Duck Huntingest Gentleman" by Keith Russell. Collection of duck hunting stories.

"The Hell Pig Hunt: A hunting adventure in the wild wetlands at the mount of the Mississippi river by middle aged lunatics who refuse to grow up" Its been a while since I've read this one, but it is a fun and easy read.

"Meateater" and "American Buffalo" both by Steven Rinella. "Meateater" is an autobiography of Steven Rinella and "American Buffalo" is about a buffalo hunt with a natural history of bison. Both are incredible books.

"White Fish Can't Jump: and other tales of gamefish on the fly" by E. Donnal Thomas. This is a great collection of fly fishing stories.

"Year of the Pig" by Mark Hainds. This is a journal of Mark's hunting pursuits of wild hog in eleven different states during the Chinese calendars "Year of the Pig"

"The Politically Incorrect Guide to Hunting". This is an easy to read analysis of the benefits and virtues of hunting.

"White Tail Nation: My Season in Pursuit of the Monster Buck" By Peter Bobo. Details author's pursuits of whitetail deer across America. Very fun and easy read.

"Tenth Legion" by Tom Kelly. This is the greatest turkey hunting book ever written.

"Prince of Poachers" by Charles Beaty. This book is written for a former outlaw poacher who describes his 22 year long poaching operation on the King and Kennedy Ranches in South Texas. This is a controversial book because many dont want the author to profit from his crimes. If you can find a used copy, it is a very fascinating read, albeit poorly edited.

GENERAL NATURE OR HISTORY
"Brutal Journey" by Paul Schneider. This is the non-fiction survival story of Cabeza De Vaca that is written like a suspense novel.

"Happy, Happy, Happy; My Life and Legacy as the Duck Commander" by Phil Robertson. Great autobiography of Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty.

"The Grail Bird: The Rediscovery of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker" by Tim Gallagher. Good book about the natural history, disappearance, and alleged rediscovery of the Ivory Billed Woodpecker.

"The Pecan; A History of America's Native Nut" by James McWilliams. Dont be fooled by the subject. This is a great book on pecan trees and the pecan's history in America. Written in a very casual manner. Great read for any Texan.

"A Walk in The Woods" by Bryson. Best Seller humor book about hiking the Appalachian Trail.

"Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secrete of a Man's Soul" by John Eldredge. This is a Christian book that explores masculine Christianity and has lots of ties to our love of the outdoors.

"A Look at Life From A Deer Stand by Steve Chapman. This is a Christian devotional that teaches lessons from the lens of a hunter.

"Fire Season: Field Notes from a Wilderness Lookout" by Philip Connors. Really enjoyed this narrative of the authors time manning a lookout tower in the Gila Wilderness of New Mexico

"American Serengeti: The Last Great Animals of the Great Plains" and "Coyote America: A Natural and Supernatural History" both by Dan Flores. I learned of these from the Meateater and Joe Rogan Podcast. Easy reads.

"Red Stick One" by Kenneth Kirkeby. This is a suspenseful fiction book about a Florida Game Warden. It's a fun read.

"The Dummy Line" by Bobby Cole. This is a fictional Thriller written by the president of Mossy Oak Bio Logic. The book is a page turner about a turkey hunter fighting for his life against some outlaw poachers.

"Indian Creek Chronicles: A Winter Alone in The Wilderness" by Pete Fromm. I've read this twice. It is the story of Pete Fromm's account of his college job for the Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game to spend a winter alone guarding salmon eggs in Indian Creek. Its a fun and easy read with a "coming of age" feel to it.

I've started reading Open Season by C.J. Box. It's the first book in a pretty long series of novels centered around a fictional Wyoming game warden, Joe Pickett. I'm pretty early into it but it's a good one so far.

Second Ammendment Manifesto was awesome!

I am currently reading some of Brad Taylor's latest. It's not outdoor related, but the good guys usually kill the bad guys. I wish more of that still happened in the world.
