How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm looking for a good podcast or two. I mostly listen to true crime ones, just got through listening to Tom Brown's Body about a kid in Canadian. It was good.

I also enjoyed Serial, Up and Vanished, In the Dark, Accused

I also really like The Way I Heard it with Mike Rowe.

Any recommendations for other good ones?

OP, you listed some classics; if you haven't done 'Son of a Hitman' yet I highly recommend it. I know it's not new, but I just recently started it and it has set the hook. It's the story of Charles Harrison and the assassination of Judge Wood in San Antonio.

Meateater is a solid series. All Crime, No Cattle (100% Texas based true crime) is a great premise, but the execution is tough to listen to; that said, for road trips I will power through a few episodes just for the info.

Here are some recent ones that I have listened to:

Murder in House Two (Iraq War related)
My Friend Michael - Wind of Change (CIA related)
Bang Bang (Houston Astro's scandal)
In the Red Clay (Georgia Mafia in the 60s/70s)
American Skyjacker (guy tries to recreate the DB Cooper heist and gets caught)

Dan Carlin's hardcore history is the best podcast I've ever listened to and I've listened to a bunch.

Not to derail, but how about giving me some audio book recs? Have 18 hours in the truck coming up next week. Already listened to Lions of Kandahar, Empire of the Summer Moon, Blood and Thunder.

The best crime podcast I have listened to is To Live and Die in LA

I have a couple of friends that grew up with some of the principals involved and / or their family members. Stuff got real.

I enjoy Deer University by MS State wildlife biology department. They run different tests and experiments on deer populations and then explain the results.

I also like the survival podcast but it is a definitely a love it/hate it kind of show. I lived down the road from the host outside of FW and have listened ever since. More of a self sufficiency, permaculture, gardening type show that dives into a bunch of topics.

'The Emerald Mile' is pretty dang good and I think it's 17 hours. Story of the fastest boat ride down the Colorado through the Grand Canyon, but also the history, geology, and politics of the river and the rivers of The West.

Just finished this one. The first few episodes made my spine hurt. Great podcast though. Another one by that group was Dear John and it was really good.

A few more that I like:
Bear Brook
Crime Junkie
Serial - (Season 1 was my first podcast to ever listen to. It was awesome)
Pardon my take.

Missing in Alaska is good.

I also enjoy black box down.

There is one about the DC sniper that I thought was interesting. Went into detail about it all. Called Monster DC Sniper

I will also add The Dating Game Killer.

Sucks that he moved to Spotify. That UI is much worse than Apple Podcast. A listen to a lot of JRE and they are very hit or miss for me, but since he is putting out so much content, it's easy to skip the ones that aren't interesting.

It got better as Kanye settled down, but he still comes across as a crazy narcissist, and I wouldn't recommend the episode.

+1 on this. Luckily I heard the series on WWI before I saw the movie 1917. Plus, my son was living with me during the early days of Covid and I introduced him to it as well. Some of the best historical perspective I've ever heard.

The Candace Owens episode is awesome. I think it's the 2nd or 3rd one.

Also, Business Wars is pretty good. It's done in a cheesy way, but the stories are good. The first season is Blockbuster vs Netflix and what went in behind the scenes of that battle for the future of home entertainment.

Not to get political, but The Federalist Radio Hour is good, and this episode is talking about Hogan vs Gawker and how he went about destroying them.
