Whatever your boots look like, they should offend as many people as possibles' sensibilities.

Only poster that has even made an effort is the poster who posted the crocs boots.

I like the round toe looks better but my wide duck feet basically make square toes much more practical

Single stitch or double stitch?

The only round toe boots I ever wore were my senior boots

Square toed boots are a recent fashion trend...they weren't even around until the millennial generation and stitched jeans.

Men that wear Wranglers don't wear square toed boots...those are for the city boys.

Wrong. Square toed boots have come and gone for hundreds of years. See the yankee carpetbagger pic above.
This thread is the same **** conversation cowboys have had for generations

City boy here who bought my first pair of boots in my entire life a couple of weeks ago at Cavender's. Went square toe. Hadn't worn boots since my Mom dressed me when I was four years old.

I had no idea the level of discomfort I was getting myself into the first day (and only day since) I wore them.

Give them a week.

I have wide feet, but I still wear men's boots (ya know, round toe).

Actually I couldn't care less. Just adding a little fuel.

Best boot out there IMO is Redwing.
Don't think they even offer square toe boots.

I've got a pair of Tony lama ostrich square toe as my go to dress boot.

Funny, I always associated work boots with round toe, because of my steel toe redwings

Funny, I always associate square toe boots as work boots of a certain ethnic group. I'm friends with and employ lots of them so this comment isn't intended as a slight or derogatory.

And steel toe redwings sounds like mining. Oh well, we all have out own views.

But remember, as Andy Dufrene showed wearing the polished warden's shoes in prison, do men really look at other men's shoes? I know I don't.

Every time a homeless person in Austin ask me for money, I say look at my boots. They're way too dirty for me to have money to give away.

To keep it on topic, square composite toe Ariat work boots. Hands down the most comfortable safety toe boot I have ever worn. I think I might be the only guy here that thinks Red Wings are very uncomfortable and make it feel like I am walking on concrete.

Usually, the homeless guys say for a dollar they can tell me where I got my boots at. They're always right!

I'm with you. I had one pair of redwing work boots and they were torture on my feet.

I'm on my second pair of Redwing square toe work boots. Very comfortable.

As others have said, I go square toe because of my wide feet. They fit better, and IMO look better too.

The round toe purists in here seem like they're desperate for other men to approve their fashion choices. Weird. Wear what you want, and put comfort first.

The original Wellington style boots, from which all boots we wear today are decended from, were square toe. Infantry boots were usually square toe.

Rounded toe developed from square toe because they were easier to get into stirrups, but even then square toe boots were not unusual at all throughout the golden era of cowboys in the late 1800's.

They've both been around for a long time, both are "correct".

I prefer square toe. I have wide pads and with round toes seemed to get ingrown toenails. Since I switched square I haven't gotten them. Enough of a reason for me.
