I am looking for a place to do a paid bird hunt. Does anyone know of a good ranch that is not over the top expensive?

WGOhunt.com offers preserve pheasant and chucker hunts. Located in Waller TX.

Done a few at Rough Creek in Glen Rose.

Have you hunted with them before? If so how would you rate the hunt and service.

We are in Houston so the closer the better but making a 2 to 4 hour drive is not a problem.

Huntwaltonranch.com. Outside Navasota Tx. Has been years since I've hunted there but heard a good review last year.

Edit to add that dove season re opens Dec. 18 in Texas. Might find a great dove hunt if looking for more than pen raised birds.

Price Ranch between Montgomery and Dobbin on 105. Pen raised birds but it's pretty good I've heard and I grew up across the road from them.

74 ranch near Pleasanton - also has a world class sporting clays course you get to use when hunt with them. - looks like 74 has gotten crazy expensive. Even more so that Joshua Creek which s also a prime spot.

I can get you a good, cheap upland hunt if you're interested in coming to the Richland springs area. The birds fly solid for being pen raised. Won't be any fancy lodge with meals. Although, it can be arranged

OP, have you ever hunted Sandhill Cranes? God it's fun and now is the time. I'd head to Lubbock if I were you. Make for much finer table fare also! Just got back on Saturday from Lorenzo. Been day dreaming about cranes ever since! Just a thought.

Packages are only $250/person and are for a full day guided hunt behind dogs that includes processing.

Packages are for 6 Pheasants or 9 Chukars or 18 quail and can be mixed and matched. Kids 15 and under hunt free with a paid adult.

Want to train your dog? Dad will hook you up with as many quail as you want and a field to work in.
