Outdoor related because I'm building a firepit/pizza oven off the deck and want to convert our fireplace to gas insert. Mainly because I want to be able to turn it on in the evening and shut it off when I go to bed.

Any experience with gas inserts? Anyone install them in Central Texas? Thanks!

We bought a gas insert to our indoor fireplace a few months ago. We used Georgetown Fireplace in Georgetown.

Very satisfied with the insert, installation, service, etc. It has a remote. Simpler than a TV remote. On/off. Increase/decrease flame. Nice on a cold morning to walk in the living area and have a fire in seconds.

They have a great selection too. Made it easy to find what worked best for us. There were some slight delays because of COVID but that was made clear to us before we ordered

Insert w/remote and doors (optional) were around $3800. Seems like the insert was less than $2K.
