Are y'all picking it up in store? How will you get it out the truck when you get home?
Haha, I can't believe this even has to be posted as an instruction guide.dtkprowler said:
Yeah done it with heavier stuff before. Just lay it over on tailgate and shotgun it up into the bed. Do it in reverse when you get home. A small furniture dolly will move it with ease laying on its side, to get it around the house.

That's my concern for picking up in store as well
With mine, the loading part was easy enough with the help of the TS folks. Unloading it was a different story. Sliding it out of the truck was fine until all the weight of the safe was on the plastic lip of the tailgate. It ended up sliding off of the side of the tailgate and slamming onto the garage floor. It's a 45 gun so it's just under 500 lb. There was pretty much no stopping it once it started sliding sideways. Fortunately, no one was hurt other than a huge gelatinous contusion on my thigh. Surprisingly, the safe was totally fine too after it's free fall. Not really anything to add on how to safely get it out of the truck other than to be really careful, have adequate help and a serious dolly.rock08 said:

Picked up one of these this morning. Thanks for the heads up.
This is impressive. We moved one with an appliance dolly I had, and it certainly had more umph than most refrigerators I have moved. I am guessing you took it off the pallet to use the dowel?dtkprowler said:
Just picked my safe up. They loaded with a forklift. I unloaded by myself then moved it across the garage with a wooden dowel rod rolling under it. Easy work!

I left mine on the pallet it came with and just positioned the dowel perpendicular to the runner. The dowel was about 3 ft long and a 1 inch dowel. You could probably use a broom stick too. Essentially, lift up one side (on the side the direction you want the safe to go). Put dowel under the edge. Push the safe until dowel is at the other end of the safe. Lift up on side the dowel is on and push dowel back to starting position and keep going.brs4688 said:dtkprowler said:

I am intrigued by this wooden dowel method. Would you explain? Size of dowel length and diameter?
