So I have a Pulsar Core RXQ30V thermal scope for varmint hunting. I've put the scope on my 223 & 308 with a QD mount, and have had the same issue with both. I will zero it in to 50 yards, but outside of 50, the accuracy isn't consistent, and have missed a few animals animals due to it. Wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue with theirs, and if there's ways to correct it?

Considering just using thermal as a scanner, and using a red light w/a scope for varmint hunting to stay accurate if I can't get this corrected. Want to here some opinions from others on their setup for varmint hunting and how y'all are doing.

I've had a similar issue with my XQ38. Send it into Pulsar, and the will tighten up something on the inside that will help with this. My scope would come off zero after using in a little bit (not the same issue as you but I bet Pulsar can fix it). weird but I sent it in about a year ago and it hasn't gotten off zero since and I turn it on at least 4 times everyday scanning my back yard.

Good to know! I'll try that and see if they can resolve it.

What distance did you zero yours at?

Its a low res unit with a small objective so you're going to get some bloom of the heat signature but should not be enough to cause a miss on a pig sized animal at 100 yards.

Could be something loose inside the scope but not very common on that model. On Pulsar units more often than not, precision issues is caused by improper torque of the mount bolts to the body. If you have a way to torque them (like a fat wrench) take them out, snug all 3, then torque to spec. Next check the tension of the mount to pic rail, especially if running their QD mount.

Give me a shout if I can help. Shawn@kelsoarms.com if you're in the BCS area, Im happy to take a look at it for you.

I zero mine at 75 yards.
