OB,

I have a buddy/cousin coming in town for Thanksgiving. Does anyone have a good outlet for day hunts around Houston? Dove or deer (doe). Non-guided, preferably, but we'll take what we can get-

Pierce Ranch south of Wharton is a place you can look, haven't hunted there in years but it's a huge place with a lot of game.

7d ranch does hunts. Just outside of Navasota in Whitehall. I don't know the details, but they're super nice people.

tough news so far. Karankawa is not doing hunts until next year. 7d leased their whitetail rights to someone else this year... I asked them if they knew another ranch nearby with meat hunts. waiting on that now.

Anyone else know of a place?

You will need to up your budget, I can at least tell you that. You may find a place that will let you chase a doe for that price range. Maybe. Hunting is expensive.

Not a huge place, it's high fenced, but I hunted up there several years back and it was enjoyable. Wes is a really nice guy and it didn't feel like a high fenced hunt at all (got me a doe, which was what I was after).

I'd work something out with yall but our doe season wraps up this weekend. We've shot nine does in the last three weeks and have more now than when we started.
