Firedisc is no longer welcome round these parts apparently.

You can try https://www.southwestdisk.com/ though. Several people here on OB have one now. Vet owned and priced right. Similar to Firedisc but half the cost. It's been recommended and food for thought for ya.

Between the 2 I would go with the blackstone. Generally speaking you have a larger cooking area at a lower price compared to the fire disc.

I am looking at a blackstone, however I do not have any outdoor grill except for a little webber smoker.

I have a large homemade plow disc cooker.

Sometimes, the bowl is a hinderance, but it's generally pretty helpful. It'll depend on the cooking you're doing.

I have a Blackstone and had a plow disc.

I think they are similar wrt their uses.
Plow disc is more portable

Get the small Blackstone Griddle and the converter to be able to hook it up to a regular propane bottle and not the chicken $#!+ little green camping bottles. Extremely portable, I take mine camping every time. I leave it in a tote with oil, seasonings, foil, cooking utensils, paper towels/paper plates.

Do your own. I was looking for some old discs at my dad's place, but then a pretty cool poster on the OB I know gave me two of his and I'm currently working on them.

Pretty portable and makes for a fun project in the evenings, plus you'll save money over buying one premade by somebody else.

I have a 22" blackstone now, and a plow disc cooker I made and have used for 20 years. I haven't once gotten out the disc cooker since getting the blackstone. And I feel the blackstone is WAY more versatile.

I have this one and I love it. It comes with its own stand and lid. It goes from our back porch to our travel trailer when we travel. Mine came with (or I purchased) a hose that lets you run it off a regular propane bottle. There is also an accessory that allows me to run it off our trailer's onboard propane. I use it way more than I ever thought I would.

I own both brands. I own the 17" and the 36" Blackstones and I own a 24" fire disc. I use the hell out of my blackstones. I do hibachis, Korean bbq, tacos, Philly cheesesteak, large breakfast and just about everything else on my blackstone, especially when we have lots of family over or we go camping. My issue with the fire disc, even with the wind helmet, is that heat is not distributed evenly like the blackstones. So you have a some really hot but small spots and the rest is not hot but it's great for frying fish. If you want a disco I would suggest buying the disco and either getting a really wide burner or use wood to heat your disco. When I'm going to make a discada or trippas, I use the wood fired discada my dad and I made my junior year at A&M.

If I had to pick just one I'd buy the blackstone and I wouldn't even look back

"Chicken in the Disco". To be honest, not sure we could replicate this! Friends we met on Chile showed up in a Livingston, MT this summer and things grew a bit out of control

I have a Firedisk and it has been great.

Customer service has been spot on and they have a great Facebook group with tons of recipes, and it stores away easily.

Bought mine used, so saved on the premium price.

FireDisc really stepped up when I was cooking with 6 other teams for first responders after Harvey. Those guys are good people. Just my $0.02
