Mahindra bush hog/shredder/rotary mower - opinions?

I need to get a new shredder for my tractor, unfortunately the one that is on long term loan to me from my buddy will be taken back soon.

My tractor is a Kubota B2410, so I'm pretty much limited to a 4' deck. I don't do a whole lot with it, mostly mow the ROW's at the deer lease and around camp to keep the grass and weeds in check. I don't pretend my tractor is anything more than it is, and while I wish I had a bigger one - that isn't happening.

Anyhoo, there is a 4' Mahindra brand shredder for sale not too terribly far from me that has my interest. But I don't know much about the quality of Mahindra outside of some anecdotal comments from a buddy that has a 35hp tractor that seems to say good things about the brand. The shredder looks solid, but pictures are just pictures. Owner claims zero issues with it, just doesn't use it anymore. Deck looks good, both parts of the PTO shaft are there, plastic guards are in good shape, hell, the paint is relatively good on it as well.

Any experience, comments, etc?

Schmellba...... I have never owned any Mahindra equipment so don't have any first hand experience to offer you.
I do have a couple of neighbor ranchers who do have Mahindra tractors and one of those guys has a 7 ft Mahindra shredder and he likes it and has had no issues with it.
In always reading your post you are one of the most knowledgeable guys on the OB so I would say go check it out and see what your gut tells you..... all I could add was to maybe make sure it has a slip clutch in the drive line and if so make sure it is not rusted together so it will work correctly.

I'll second what Gunny said: all I could add was to maybe make sure it has a slip clutch in the drive line and if so make sure it is not rusted together so it will work correctly.

I bought a 5' Rhino and I have no complaints.

We have a Mahindra 4540, with a 6' shredder. Absolutely have no complaints about the tractor or the shredder. I agree with the earlier comments about ensuring the connectors are in working order, but that would be for any brand.
