Wanting to send some business their way and looking for recommendations. I normally go for darker side of medium and it seems they have a ton in that range. So I am asking which do you like the best?

Just Black and AK Expresso are my two favorites.

GS - Gunship & JB - Just Black

Maybe this is just my take, but I find BRC to be average. I enjoy supporting a company that is vocal in their support of 2A, vets, etc...but I also like drinking good coffee. And outside of their marketing, BRC is pretty average.

What's your coffee of choice? I went through a few pounds of Lavazza Oro this year, then decided to change it up and try Peets. Just finishing my first pound of that and I don't know what I'll order next.

I really like their Coffee or Die.

Member's Mark Colombian Supreme Whole Bean in a 2.5 poiund bag for around $11.00 is hard to beat. Grind yourself and figure out what works with your brewer of choice. Good body and dark enough even through a Keurig.

The stuff is so expensive I only buy it during their sales, I can barely taste anything so I typically just buy Amazon brand since it is the cheapest I can find at a decent quality. I like supporting our veterans but the Amazon stuff is a third of the cost

Has anyone visited their new coffee shop in San Antonio? I believe it's their first retail location.

Not a coffee drinker but i went to the drive-thru of their new store in SA for a cold brew. Right now they appear to be getting more business than the Starbucks about 100 feet up the road.

They also have a location in Boerne.

Yep, it's great. I often bring in coffee to my Customers for work and love that I don't have to spend $ with Starbucks anymore. The coffee is much better to begin with, but, their employees are so much friendlier it's not even funny. The Pecan Bars are amazing. You could get fat on those real quick.

I'll rotate BRCC at home, but, my go- is Independence Coffee Jet Fuel. I get the 5lb bags on their website and they send 15% off coupons to my email pretty regularly

I'm drinking some right now, but $45 for three bags is making me question if I'll order again.

The one in SA is their first corporate store all the other locations are franchises

Right next to a Starbucks and is doing 4x the business

I've driven thru the new one in SA probably 10 times now.
Pretty good coffee to me but then again I'm not a connoisseur by any means.

Yeah, I grind my own but haven't taken to roasting my own. Any idea if you can get that Member's mark fresh roasted, or is it roasted weeks before they ship it?

Does black rifle coffee deliver fresh roasted? I've gotten spoiled, and since I don't roast my own I like it roasted within the last week or two of when I grind it. Believe it or not you can taste the difference.

Yes, you're probably right.

I have a BRCC monthly subscription and the beans are fresh. They don't stamp dates on the bags, but it does say that bags shipped out are roasted within that previous week.

Black Rifle's roasts are darker than advertised, so if you like medium-dark, I'd probably start with a medium roast. I had their dealer's choice coffee club for a month, and they sent a dark roast (beyond black I think), and it tasted like charcoal to me. Just Black was too dark in my opinion as well. Their light roasts are actually medium. I like Silencer Smooth personally, which is dead-on medium in my opinion. Gunship is good, but the beans are on the oily side of medium. I actually called and asked if I could specify light and medium roasts in that club and was told no, so I switched it to GS and SS. I'm probably going to go to just SS going forward, though.

I honestly avoided trying them for a while because I'd assumed that they were just all marketing, but after hearing the founder on MeatEater, realized that he knows his stuff, so I gave them a shot.

Freedom roast is my favorite

Ordered some coffee or die. Seemed a good balance point on their roast scale. Now just have to wait for it.

We have the subscription service and get CAF (Caffeinated as F*)

It's our daily drinker. The Silencer Smooth is good too, a little milder than CAF.

We saw them at the NRA Convention in Dallas a couple of years ago. I like what they stand for. I'm happy to support the company and I also really enjoy the product.

Also to add, Burdett's in College Station sells their coffee now, so I like to get a bag of something different from time to time just to try new things.

Couldn't this be said for any purchase you ever make? I am wanting to support a company that supports causes I am aligned with. I sure as hell don't want to spend my money with companies that are openly hostile to my beliefs and freedoms. So if that is falling for marketing so be it.

You'll have to forgive that guy, he tries really hard to be edgy and funny. Unfortunately most of the time he comes across more like an old church lady that sucks lemons for fun, but thankfully comedy isn't his full time occupation.

If you want a surprisingly good coffee, try the Safeway brand whole bean Sumatra. It's affordable (when you drink as much coffee as we do) and easily as good as more expensive brands.
