As a dealer who sells both, I can tell you the true ASF is going to be more durable in the long run. The ASF has a full cage around the control unit to keep varmints out, the EZ Feeder has a plate under the spinner and I could see where some varmints (namely racoons) might be able to reach the spinner plate. Other parts of the construction are a little lighter on the EZ.

If you're looking at the 600# ASF, and wherever you are buying sells them at MSRP, you are looking at a $270 price difference for a more durable feeder that holds 200# more. I think you'll be satisfied with the EZ Feeder but for us, the 600# ASF outsells it about 15-1.

FWIW.
Solid comparison info...thanks!

I bought one about a month ago and the only thing I'm worried about is the solar panel on the side. It seems it could get broken pretty easy from cows or hogs. Has anyone had any issues with the solar panel?

Full disclosure, I sell ASF (and have since mid 90s). I have done feeder maintenance for clients in the past and have not had an issue with broken solar panels. Couple times the wire coming out of the bottom of the panel gets damaged and if you don't strap feeder down in the back of your truck it will get blown into your tailgate and that can/will smash the solar panel . . . only issues I've had working with stand and fill setup.

So I bought one of each. They both are nice but the ASF is definitely next level.

I've got 2 ordered (600# Stand-Fill) - will they both fit in a standard truck bed or should I have a trailer to pick up?

I've fit 2 in my short bed with a tool box in it--had tailgate down to accomplish this. You can stack them closer together if you put one on its lid and leave other upright on skids.

I have a 600# ASF, 600# Lamco, and my father in law has several Ranch King 600# ones on the lease. The ASF is my least favorite, but its ok. The Ranch Kings are easily the most critter proof since everything is internal. The Lamco is a beast and easy to work on but I did have to add conduit on the wire going to the motor. The ASF is fine, I just think there's better ones for the money.
