You might want to check. We have a place in Junction and got notice that CWD was found within a few miles of our place. Mason isn't that far away. The virus is working it way around.

Put out a new feeder at a new spot this year (thanks to all in the All Seasons Feeder has thread for convincing me to pull the trigger on that bad boy)

Anyways, set up the camera and a little discouraged after a week of nothing but fat raccoons. Checked the pics this morning and had this from last night.

Finally seeing some horns. Just placed this feeder two weeks ago. The neighbor reportedly saw "the biggest deer I've ever seen" last week so we'll see if he makes an appearance

Yep. We always just called them banana spiders as kids. Not really dangerous but the webs sure will get your attention in the dark. They really like swampy bottom lands. Used to squerril and wood duck hunt a small bayou in Louisiana. They were so thick across the bayou in the dark, that you had to hold a paddle up in front of you to idle the boat in before shooting light.

We went to Reelfoot Lake and we ran up into a bayou with these spiders literally everywhere you looked. I thought my wife and daughters and the other ladies with us were going to have a stroke, and this was in broad daylight.

Still holding up and working when we get rain. Based on the weather station, we've had only 1.23" this year. We were at 4.87" this time last year. I haul water over from the main water tank when I can, but that's a chore until I get a water tote.

Those are ground squirrels, not tree squirrels. Relatively common in much of the Hill Country, nice looking and usually bigger than a tree squirrel. But if you shoot one watch out when you pick it up. Those things are covered in fleas living in ground burrows as they do.
