My wife and I have had our LTC for a while, and while I have time to go practice on a regular basis, my wife has not.

She was curious if there was any recommended training courses specifically geared towards women like her, knows the basics but need to develop an acceptable comfort level.

Any ideas? We are in the upper Gulf Coast region of Texas.

Organization called "a girl and a gun" will likely be super helpful if theyre in your area. Id start there.

Interested as well... wife needs to shoot again.

Fighting farmer - aren't you in the Houston area? I'm in Katy but would prefer to find something not at ASC.

Tatiana Whitlock is another good resource. She's affiliated with AGAG that Bender mentioned, but does her own classes as well.

My wife was scheduled to go to one until the plague cancelled them.

Yeah we are just southwest of you a bit.

The warriorchl group looks most local. We did courses at Champion Firearms years ago and they were great. But more lady friendly environment would be the ideal course going forward.

I'll pass these on.

I've found several classes for women at almost all of the gun ranges near me. The classes vary from range to range obviously, but they all have them for all skill levels.

Any place that names themselves "warrior" whatever, is a hard no go for me. Especially if they aren't one.

Girl and a Gun should be good.

If you're willing to travel to central Texas, KR Training is very good.

There was a guy in the gulf coast region a few years ago that got fronted out for using the term SEAL when he wasn't one. He never said that he WAS one, but he implied it a lot. Said he "trained with SEALs" etc etc and someone that didn't know the difference might take it to mean that he was one.

I don't know if this is the same guy but his "about" section on his website seems to make certain implications.

As far as training goes, I'm sending my mom here:

But its in Cedar Park. Not sure if that would help the OP. Once she gets past that I'm going to recommend that she step it up a notch, but the place above has training specifically for seniors/women etc.
