Need suggestions for a good fillet knife to handle a mix of fresh and saltwater fish. Could use suggestions for a traditional or electric knife if it is recommended to have both.

I bought a Dexter filet knife with a CCA stamp on it. I like that it's a little stiffer blade than the rapala and the handle is bigger.

Pro tip: knife alone cost $29, sheath costs $8 separately. Knife/sheath combo pack was $29 bucks.

Any of y'all tried the Danco knives? Saw em for sale in Jeco's in Port O. Look like a nice knife for the price.

I just finished filleting 2 dozen Largemouth Bass with a Walmart $14.00 electric knife, it worked very well. For large fish, Reds and Red Snapper I use a Captain Bubba 9 in, non slip, stiff full tang to cut through rib cages, Amazon $48.00.

Friend of mine stripped the blades out of one of the rapala cordless fillet knives like AC posted on the ribs of a red fish. I didn't see exactly what happened as I was rinsing the boat off at the time. It sure enough broke though. Some would probably argue he did something wrong(maybe so), but I have seen him clean 1000 fish with his old electric fillet knife with no problems.

I have a Danco and really like it. It wasn't the sharpest out of the box, but I touched up the edge and it has been great. I like the feel of the handle and the blade has held up well for 2 years so far.
