So, yeah, Rudolph called me today and said these are en route to the US right now. I'll get more details when I can, but I have been waiting on this thing patiently for over a freaking year. This hits the mark on so many areas, it's not even funny.

Japanese
Front Focal
Target Turrets
Illuminated
Side Focus
50mm objective
30mm tube

On the 4-20x50 the MSRP is $995 and I think MAP on them is $899. 3-18x42 is $100 less, I think. I really want to compare these to the Meopta Optika6s and see how they perform next to each other but this could be our go to sub1k scope for the future.

They also told me they have a 4-32x56 coming. It's coming in at 2K and I honestly think they are being a little... over confident... in the price tag on it, but I'll reserve judgement until it gets here.

And I'm going to crawl into a bottle of bourbon now. Been a rough two weeks.

Oh, and one nitpick, I think both are MRAD only. I'm pushing for an MOA.

Read IR as infrared instead of illuminated reticle and was real curious.

Why are scopes now 4-20 or 3-18, it seems like standard used to be 3-9 or 4-12. Is that an advancement in technology? More old people needing scopes? 4-20 sounds awesome to me!

Better technology and manufacturing practices/coatings allow for a wider range in magnification with minimal performance loss. Schmidt and Bender makes a 5-45 that is legit.

Same reason there was only a handful of ammo manufacturers with minimal number of loads and bullets. Per caliber.

5x and 6x zoom vs. the old 3x zoom. So yes, advancement in technology, especially since more people are getting involved in longer range shooting, again due to advancement in technology. Better barrels, better triggers, better bullets, better powders, better stocks, better scopes, and better ballistic knowledge.

Definitely a better level of tech out now for a better price. I think it is leading to a bit of overkill on magnification, but overall, I've been very happy with the newer scopes that have been coming out by everyone. If anything, I think the low medium power... the 2-12x type stuff... has been forgotten about when it should be more popular, but otherwise, being able to take someone from being typically a 3-9x scope up to a 3-15x for the same price points has been really freaking cool. There's less need to force yourself in a specific direction on power as the power bands are much larger now. Also, the lens tech is drastically improved so the optics are getting better and costing less. Overall, it's a great time in regards to optics.
