Can believe it's that time of year already...
Definitely an early start. We have had an early storm in May/June plenty of times before, but I don't ever remember having this many this early on.
In fact, to quote my self
Named Storms before today, June 3
- none
- none
- none
- TS Ana (April 20-24)
- none
- none
- none
- TS Andrea (May 9-11)
- TS Arthur (June 1-4)
- none
- none
- none
- TS Albert (May 19-22)
- none
- none
- TS Ana (May 8-11)
- Hurricane Alex C1 (January 12-15), TS Bonnie (may 27- June 4)
- TS Arlene (April 19-21)
- TS Alberto (May 22-25)
- STS Andrea (May 20-21)
- TS Arthur (May 16-19), TS Bertha (May 27-28), TS Cristobal (June 1- Pr)
Only one other year (2016) since 2000 have we had multiple named storms before June 3, and that was with a rogue January hurricane. Half the time, we have had nothing yet. It looks to be a busy season.
