I purchased a LaRue LT104 about 5 weeks ago. I was all excited to finally put some glass on my AR and shoot it more while stuck at home. Now the scope is here collecting dust while the LT104 is backordered. LaRue doesn't answer their phone, emails, or online form. I'd like to support this well regarded Texas company, but I'm getting frustrated.

Does anyone here know someone at LaRue? Is this common? Should I just keep waiting?

LaRue takes forever...

I have a couple sets of LaRue mounts and they are really nice but they aren't the best. Sphur mounts are rock solid but pricy, although I haven't had any problems with my Burris either.

I bought an LT104 because I thought that I would use the QD feature a lot.
I've never actually taken the scope off in the 6 years that I've had it.
If I had a do-over I'd probably get a fixed Wilson Combat "bullet proof" mount that are in stock and on sale for $127 and then run off set irons

Look at Geissele if you're willing to spend the coin. Also, Warne's cantilever mounts look pretty solid, but I've never used them.

Similar experience here...ordered a trigger from them about 5/6 weeks ago and tried to call/e-mail to get an expected ship date to no avail...got an e-mail Tuesday that it finally shipped and should be delivered today.

Hopefully yours isn't far behind as they catch up on orders.

LaRue is great but loot at Geissele and possibly Scalarworks.

LT used to be amazing when the only alternative was ARMS.
Now they're heavy and slow versus the competition.

Still like a lot of their products, but very true. Agree with a post above to try Scalarworks. Geissele hasn't been exactly Johnny on the spot either (well before covid). Settle down G fans, I'm a fan of theirs too

i use american defense almost exclusively. i've been happy with their products and are cheaper than larue and sphur

I love Geissele, and have a ton of their gear, but I think they've overextended themselves on both models and amount of products on several occasions. Models tend to hit the shelves, then they are dropping an upgraded/newer version very shortly afterwards. Almost the SpaceX model of rapid prototyping. See the SOCOM uppers as an example.

That being said, I'll definitely recommend most of their stuff.

I'm in the market for new scope mounts for my AR. Read your post and checked the AD website and their mounts cost almost as much as I paid for my AR.

Oh they aren't that bad! Shpur mounts are 3-600 pesos!

I agree, especially for LPVOs. No real reason to run QD on anything other than a magnifier behind a red dot IMO.

I made over $900 selling those bottle openers. For a few years LaRue would make a special one for each shooting match they sponsored. There were people on AR15.com that would collect them. I found a guy that would pay me $50 for each one, I'd just mail it to him after the match. I sold one for $120, it was a small match that only had ~50 people so they were rare. Tactical beanie babies.

LaRue used to send a BBQ trailer to lots of matches, free brisket tacos and drinks for everyone. They would put up 10s of thousands of dollars of their stuff on prize tables at even smaller matches.

They had Dakota Meyer calling wind for you at a demo table where you could shoot an OBR at 990 yards. I know several veterans that got personal tours of their facilities followed by them getting to pick out whatever components they wanted to leave with a custom rifle.

Mark LaRue is a bit crazy but is nice IRL. They don't sponsor many matches anymore but I still like what they did. I've been running the same LaRue scope mount on my competition rifle for 12+ years.

Call LaRue see if they have the Lt104 available with the vfz lock. (Non QD). Saves you 50 dollars

That's the one I ordered because I don't really need QD. They didn't answer my call.

Buy a Burris mount and open your long neck with your Aggie ring.

Ugh. As much as it sucks.. Just wait. Been there with LaRue as well.
