Where to buy crawfish for bait around Houston?

Trying to get something a little more sturdy on the hook for my trot lines, does anybody know where to get crawfish by the pound in Houston? I don't need a 30lb sack of them just to bait a trot line. Thanks!

HEB will sell live by the pound. Or at least they did last year haven't tried this year.

We used to dip net them from ditches around Rosenburg. Catfish didn't like the big red ones, they always ate the smaller white/pale ones.

Not to derail the thread, but has anyone noticed that the crawfish prices are staying pretty high given the lack of demand.

Im still seeing $3.97/# here locally in Lake Jackson.

They typically start coming down by now (at least a little).

You can't get into the fish markets here in Seabrook and Kemah on the weekends because of the demand. I'm talking hundreds if not thousands of people stacked on top of each other at every market starting Friday evenings till Sunday afternoons. I guess there isn't much to do but drink beer and boil

I haven't seen them advertised at my local HEB this year (Corpus Christi area), figured heb just said to hell with em this year. Did I assume wrong?

Well damn.... I was hoping me and my brothers were the only ones who had this plan.

If this goes on much longer we might say to hell with it and get a couple sacks.

Talk to HEB Monday and they are carrying them, this was a San Antonio area HEB. Will be ordering a bag for next weekend.
