What billows/fan and remote monitoring unit do you use for your smoker

I picked up a ThermoWorks signals and billows after recommendations on this board a year or so ago. Have to say so far I'm not impressed.

The first set they sent me didn't work at all. I mean the fan would not come on at all. Monitor worked ok but would randomly freeze and stop tracking temps and reporting.

Sent that back, CS was great, had a replacement next day. This unit, well the fan runs, but 2-3 hours in to a cool the thing will just freeze and stop controlling or reporting to my phone. It's got Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection to our home network and signal isn't the issue. Any of you had issues with this system.?

And what comparable monitor/fan could I try that would be more reliable? Pretty frustrating because this setup was $$$.

I have the ThermoWorks Signals and Bellows, and it works fine for me. I was skeptical because of all the bad reviews of their app, but bought it anyway because I love their Thermopens so much.

I use mine on an XL BGE. I love the Signals. I think it's a great remote thermometer. No connectivity issues with mine. The Bellows works great as well. It holds temperature to within a couple degrees for many hours.

The only issue with using the Bellows on a BGE is the fan is a little too big. You have to shut the top damper down to only a sliver of a crack, and I believe the large fan causes you to go through coal quicker than you would by just using the dampers alone. I've never run out of coal with or without using the Bellows, so maybe this is a moot point, but it is something to be aware of.

I've got a ThermPro remote thermometer. Two probes and a sending unit at the pit. Receiver unit that I can keep with me. Works on radio frequency I think. I don't use a blower; my WSM runs a good temp with minor adjustments.

I use a flameboss. Works great and customer service is exceptional.

Dont overlook the smobot. Been running mine a couple years now and love it. I check the probes occasionally in the boiling water test and they are still true. Runs off a phone charger so lots less cords and install. I bought an extra top so I have one for manual cooks and the smobot on a permanent one for when I want to use it. Runs two food probes and one in the dome. Good enough app to keep an eye on everything and changes temps as needed.

Flame Boss 300 with WiFi is excellent. I was able to monitor and adjust the temp on my BGE while watching my son at an all day baseball tournament.

I have the Flame Boss 300. It is nice to be able to cook a brisket on Tuesday and monitor everything from work via the website
