I planted this Shumard Oak this past Fall, and now as it's put out new leaves the below spots are popping up all over the tree. I'm thinking it's Anthracnose, but would like other opinions. Also, any good way to treat?

You'll see the older growth has the brown spots, while the newer growth appears to be dying from it. Looking on the backside of the leaf, there seems to be a buildup of something near the veins. Is that the fungus?

TTT. I'm also noticing this on 3 of my other oaks. It's not as pronounced, bit still there. I've had issues with them for the past 2 years after I planted them.

Doesn't look like anthracnose to me. How high in the tree canopy are you seeing it on the larger trees?

This trees about 12' tall and it appears to be all throughout the tree.

The trees that I've had for a couple years, whatever they have usually only affects the bottom half of the canopy. The leaves on them eventually completely brown and drop.

No, don't use weed and feeds, and didn't even use pre emergent this year. An arborist I had come look at some trees last fall suggested pre emergent could affect the trees. I don't necessarily agree with that idea, but decided to skip using any more pre emergent at this point to see.

I did throw down some ammonium sulfate late last week after aerating my yard. My soil has a high pH (8.3) and a very low nitrogen level.

Hard to tell could be a micro nutrient deficiency due to high ph. Doesn't look fungal but it's hard to tell.

I've noticed several people in the neighborhood's red/Shumard oaks have the same issue on their leaves. Definitely leads me to believe insects or fungus.

Thanks, I had found that website before, which to me says I have anthracnose. Seems the likeliest with symptoms. Only reason I somewhat doubt it is because it likes moist cool conditions, and I live in Midland. While we have had some cold fronts move through while it was budding out, it hasn't rained much this spring and it's obviously not humid out here.
