Looking for some help, purchased my first firearm a Ruger PCC in 9mm, came with a magazine adapter for Glock magazines. Have since added a Glock 19 since they share magazines, and then stumbled into a Draco NAK9 which also takes the Glock magazines. Figure I probably should have gone another direction instead of the Draco, but that is why I am here. What recommendations does this board have to fill out my battery? Looking to keep it simple, but complete in terms of usefulness and fun, not wanting to have so many I cant keep up with using them or maintenance. Basically if I were to add no more than three additional firearms what should they be?

AR-15...cause 'merica

10/22 for when they ban the AR-15

bolt action rifle for when they ban semi-auto rifles

Revolver...for when they ban the semi auto pistols

Muzzleloader for when they ban ammunition

Bow for when they ban lead and powder

Knife for when they ban Bows

Boxing/fight training for when they ban Knives.

...or you can say screw all that and just get the AR-15 and a LOT of ammunition and a safe house somewhere.

You're missing something in an actual rifle caliber.

Training is worth more than buying a ton of guns.

If I had the guns you did, I'd buy a backup G19, two simple ARs, and spent the rest of this year going to pistol and carbine classes.

Then I'd spend next year buying whatever fun guns you wants

Classes are being scheduled as is lots of range time, once more ammo is available. If I am going down this road, want to do it smart and safe.

I'm not as gun crazy as a lot on this board, so I try to concentrate on having as few calibers as possible currently. For me that's .22lr, 9mm, 5.56, and 6.5cm. Different people need more or less, only you can decide what you need, and when. Then make sure you have redundancy in each of those calibers - as much as your budget, safe, and wife allows.

Then you're already way ahead of me when I was where you are now in the gun buying/shooting process. Smart man.

Three is a pretty low number to complete any firearms battery. Obvious additions are a rifle, a shotgun and a rimfire, but I'd have multiples within each.
This would be my minimum list: AR15 in 556, 7-08 bolt action, 12 ga auto, 20 ga auto, pump, or O/U, 22lr auto rifle and pistol and a 17HMR or 22WMR bolt or auto.
That's actually seven guns but after you get the basics down then you can get into the really fun stuff like multiple AR calibers, duck guns, turkey guns, beautiful O/U shotguns for hunting and target shooting, small bore, medium bore and large bore bolt actions for hunting and long range/precision shooting, AR pistols, AK's etc.

This. Training over owning a maassive amounts of firearms everytime.

Every battery only needs 5 guns at its core. The rest are nice to have but just extra.

1. Main battle rifle compatable with, and comparable to, whatever the standard issue is to the regular Police/Military. So, in this case its an AR-15....and training.

2. A Compentent standard calibered, scoped, bolt action long gun that is caliber that has been around a while. Not the latest fad because of its "superior balistics"....so.....308..300WinMag.... Something that you can deploy to kill heavy boned thick skinned animals, and can reach out and touch someone if you had to....I'm biting the hell out of my tongue here not naming a caiber, thats really popular right, now as one not to focus on.

3. A shot gun. And training You do not need to spend $2000 here. Its better to be a surgeon with an 870 or Mossburg 500 than a hack with an expensive/tacticool weapon that doubles as a hunting gun...

4. A Glock 19 or Sig or close equivalent in 9mm because its the current go to for Mil and LE...and training. Every handgun after this is extra.

5. A .22lr. I like the 10/22 but bolt guns are cool too.

Looks like a 22, shotgun of some sort, a true hunting type rifle of some sort, and an AR so 4 instead of three. Makes sense, I like the idea of keeping it simple as to varied calibers etc, thus why the glock 19. The Draco was more of a whim that fell in my lap, fact that all three share magazines was a nice bonus.

LOL, hopefully nobody would get too offended around here by calling out their favored caliber. 6.5cm would be my guess as to your reference.

I think most would agree that unless you have specific requirements something like a 308 is highly suggested as a "larger than a 5.56" rifle caliber in most collections due to being so proven, universal, and widely available.

Thanks for all the help fellas, I knew I could get suggestions here. Am going to wait a little bit for things to settle down before my next firearm purchase, but have a related set of questions for safe, efficient, and affordable storage and transport of the guns I own already, with the idea that it also needs to be scalable.

1 ruger pcc in 9mm
1 draco NAK9 in 9mm
Looking for suggestions for affordable and efficient means of keeping things together, getting what I need to the range or classes efficiently, etc. Yes i know wide open here. I currently have this beast that was gifted to me by a buddy that had it lying around unused.

It works it hold all three, plus ammo, magazines, ear and eye protection. But I cannot get the cleaning or other stuff in it. Plus ranges around here are asking that folks lysol their stations etc after use for the next guy. Dont mind multiple bags or boxes just trying to figure out what works for folks.
One solution I have looked into is a fishing tackle box like this one. At least for the pistol as I could have everything compartmentalized. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Flambeau-T4-Multi-Loader-Fishing-Tackle-Box/17034352
I know overthinking it I am sure. But open to ideas. Flame away....

Shotgun-12 gauge-Mossberg is good.
Revolver in .357: Ruger SP101 (for concealed), GP 100 or used Service/Security Six.
AR, as Eyeguy mentioned. I like Smith&Wesson M&P 15 in 5.56 NATO cause its easy on the budget.

I think there was a typo in the OP.

You definitely need an AR, but if I was doing the bolt action game over I would get a Desert Tech SRS A2 and barrel for every occasion. You will save money (well maybe not) but you could get very familiar with a single weapon system

A 308 AR 10 works well for hunting. I really doubt too many of us actually have the skill to outshoot one, but if you want to hunt outside of the US/do a hunt where you have to pack the gun, a light bolt action is a good choice.

A suppressed 22, both bolt actions and pistols, are really fun

Ok after taking a pistol and a.carbine class, I have since given the glock 19 to my daughter as it fits her hand better and replaced it with a 17 that fits mine better. But still looking for the next piece, should I go bolt action, ar type, or shotgun next. I know this is not the best time to be looking, but I am so what say y'all? For bolt I am looking at 308 caliber in the savage axis line, mossberg patriot line, and Ruger American line. Just to keep it relatively price minded for a first bolt. AR style thinking either 5.56 or go AR 10 style and 308. Keep the Daniel Defense price level for yourselves, I am wanting to stay much lower than that price wise, again it is a first so wanting it to be simple and reliable. Shotguns I am wide open have not done much research there yet.

since you took a carbine class you might as well get an ar. Anything with a not-plastic receiver. Piece together a basic 16" 5.56 flat top from PSA for cheap if that's still an option? Then you can get a grendel or 6.8 upper and mags for it and put off the bolt rifle for a bit if you want.

Then you need a shotgun...12 or 20ga, I like winchester 1300s and Mossberg 500s, most people like 870s. If you are buying from a pawnshop just make sure it takes choke tubes and 3" shells and you'll be in good shape.

Get your LTC if you haven't already.

Get an AR in 5.56, leave the other calibers for later when you have your basics rounded out.

Your next three guns need to be

1. AR15 or AR10
2. 6.5 Creedmoor and which platform depends on your budget. Look at the Tikka T3
3. .22LR lever action

Working on getting that set-up, want to get better with the pistol before taking the class and qualifying. But also looking at the next purchase and doing the research. Pretty much narrowed down that the next three needed to be an AR of some type, a bolt action, and a shotgun from my first question. Trying to get a good idea as to what order now. While being budget conscious and staying basic for learning.
