Real curious for feedback from those who have owned or ridden in one.

Test drove one at Woods in NB. You have to want it because it looks like a Jeep. Functionally a Side by Side is far more practical IMO. The Roxor drove and rode worse than my 2011 Ranger. I can't imagine how bad it would seem next to a 2020 Ranger or Can Am. Ultimately, we just decided to stick with our Ranger. My FIL has a diesel JD Gator. I'd also take that over the Roxor if it's the diesel.

All that said, we have a '06 TJ. You could make a lot of arguments for cars that would make more sense as a weekend fun vehicle. Sometimes you jus gotta Jeep Brah!

I've had one for four months. We've got a variety of Rangers, Honda's, Polaris 4 wheelers, golf carts. The ROXOR is the only vehicle that every one has seen and ridden in that everyone loves. Very solid well made tight vehicle. The 4 cylinder diesel is awesome. Very torquey. The majority of our roads and fire lanes I can put it in low 4wd and idle along in 2nd gear without touching the gas. It's a joy.

The most notable difference is turning radius. When you're used to modern side by sides/4 wheelers, it's a bit different because it's an actual car.

I bought one in December and I love mine. I am adding new accessories to it every month.

Would consider if they came in gasoline. Hard pass on a diesel Jeep thing or suv.

Absolutely love driving this thing around the ranch. We have been so impressed with the performance that we have a second on the way. With all the rain, the 4wd has been extremely impressive and it went through mud that I thought for sure we would be getting the tractor out to come get us.

The manual transmission is just fun, and super easy. My niece and nephew, aged 10 and 11, can hop in and drive all over with no problems.

Then just buy an old Jeep..... That's basically what the Roxor is...

What's the hang up on diesel?

Too noisy imo.

When shopping for a ROXOR my first comment in the Mahindra lot after cranking it up was, "wow, its not loud at all." Nice little diesel note.

I rented one in Moab last summer and did some trails. Super fun. I'd love to have one for the lease. Terrifying at 55mph in high winds on the highway though

What's also nice about the Diesel engine (other than it will last 2 lifetimes) you don't have to put the DEF in it. We own two and I do prefer the automatic over the standard. I think I will put an after market clutch in ours.

Other than being a knock off jeep, I think they have a chance if they can be reliable. We're toward Rock Springs and none of the side by sides or similar can hold up to all the rock and abuse. We're back to driving old 4x4 trucks because it was throwing away money for ATVs.

I wouldn't mind these being the solution if they can hold up to heavy abuse.

the new Mahindra Roxor shares a number of designs with the original 1940s civilian Jeep, the CJ-2A (and also other CJs, especially the CJ-3B), and even wears some interchangeable parts...

a CJ-3B (which Mahindra built its own version of under license for many yearssee image above)

Wow you must be on bad ground around Rock Springs. Our ranch is in Junction and we use Yamaha Rhinos. Have some that are 5-6 years old we use on the ranch every day and have literally hundreds of hours on them and all we replace is tires.
Noisy but really hold up well and we have people treat them horribly.
Only vehicle that rivals them is our M998 Hmvees.

Wow. I need to test drive one. Saw one at the Houston hunting show last month but I've never seen one running. Ready to replace my '14 Yamaha Viking because of the noise. And age. Looked at the cab jd gator last fall but the price is crazy. I got a great '93 Toyota pickup 4x4 from a friend last fall instead of the cab gator. Mainly so my kid can learn to drive on a stick shift.

I know this is relative to how loud you turn up your volume, but here is an idea of them. Keep in mind this is in the dead quite of the morning, in the middle of no where, next to the muffler.

It sure does! I can see the appeal, but I prefer to have a bed on my utility vehicle. For a basic mode of off road transportation, I have 2 jeeps that fit the bill, and can be legally driven on road as well.

It would be a fun cruise around rig if you are not needing to haul a bunch of stuff, or needing to get in and out often.

They have been sold in Central America for a few years, Road legal there. My buddy in Belize has a little truck that he really likes. It's a 4 door with a bed, the front is not like a jeep though. The Jeep ones go by another name there.

ETA: Here's his little truck. I think he paid $9,000 or so for it. https://www.motortrend.com/news/mahindra-trucks-finally-get-epa-certification-sales-to-commence-in-december-8650/

That article is from 2010, saying they might be selling them in the US by 2011.

Too bad that didn't happen.

Also found an article saying Chrysler is trying to block Roxor sales because they look like Jeeps. Wonder if that got resolved?

They can be opted up to street legal I believe rather easily.
