That 70 something was at CCC last month shooting in my squad claiming it was his 3rd ever match, he pretty much kicked everyone's ass though.

I overheard part of a conversation he was having with a South African guy and what little I heard indicated he is or at least used to be involved with military operations in Africa.

Probably has some cool stories if you could get him to share.

Probably so, he seemed like a really cool guy. He and his wife both had STI 2011's and I have a feeling he is the type to practice until he felt he could win before ever showing up the first time.

There are 3 things needed to be one of the cool kids at a USPSA match.

  • CZ
  • Salomon shoes
  • Academy folding wagon

I have one of the 3

But I did break my personal best for Hit Factor twice this weekend so I am improving. Will try to break the 6 barrier next match.

Not wrong.

I don't use salomans but did break down last week and buy a wagon. And I'm shooting H&K this year so...

But you're shooting an HK45CT and not an expert.

Two things made Area 4 livable last year: a case of water and a wagon to cart everything with. If you're looking for some shoes but don't want to break the bank, Boombahs work fine.

Boombah makes a good shoe. I wear their turf shoes for softball and they're extremely comfortable. They always have sales for turfs that are like $35 - $45.

Don't have to have a CZ, but they're nice. There were a few production shooters who did pretty well with polymer guns at the major matches that were at Area 59. But the Sig X five Legion I think is a pretty great compromise.

I always like buying new guns but I also know that the pistol I have is much more accurate and capable than I am at this point.

Salomon runs a pretty good pro program for leo/mil if you qualify.
